Harmless poke at class systems, management and unions of the day. Some outdated cultural references that were acceptable back then. Good natured movie with some real laugh out loud moments. Lots of visual cues and music cues to enhance the comedy, some subtle and some very obvious.
To be honest you could look at the cast list and pick any movie in that era and whilst they are very similar they are still very enjoyable.
Although it is interesting how much has changed over the years and unfortunately stayed the same.
