I Came By 2022

A pleasantly surprising crime thriller! I liked all the characters especially Hector Blake who makes a fun and intriguing villain I wanted to know more about him. The story isn't anything new or original but the great characters and unexpected twists make for a fun watch.

Basically Toby got himself killed due to being stupid and Jay got Toby's mum killed due to being stupid.

"I Came By" is a consistently mediocre thriller. Except for the truly fabulous Hugh Bonneville as the villain, I can't think of anything that makes the film particularly good or exceptionally bad. And even Bonneville is underused in the end. The camera angles are boring throughout, and the plot is predictable to a large extent. Tension does arise in parts, but the plot ultimately lacks focus. There is no protagonist to sympathize with. Instead, there are several jumps, in which the previous main character disappears and a new character suddenly moves into the spotlight. I would definitely call that a brave departure from the usual genre formula. However, it didn't work for me here at all. Instead, I didn't care about any of the characters' fates.

This dark thriller often surprises but it needed a stronger script to really have an impact.

Not a unique plot for about a sociopath but still entertaining as it follows a famous tagger who has been going around tagging the inside of rich people's homes as a way to send a message against the 1%'s and the government covering up the dirty side of them. However, their last tag goes wrong and a group of people get mixed up in trying to bing down a former judge who is a murdering sociopath. This film is dark and keeps you on the edge of your seat, but the plot development is brief and not much detail is put in, therefore leaving a rushed ending with lots of questions.

Yikes, some of these reviewers are impossible to please. This was absolutely, unexpectedly, fantastic. You see the preview, see it's on Netflix, and you're like sure I'm down to watch some dumb thriller tonight, but instead you end up with some deep thought out movie where shit goes in a completely different direction than you expected. Bravo, it's not easy these days to do something that hasn't been done a dozen times before.

Super slow pace. Really felt like it could have been one episode of some series, was really dragging.

Great movie keeping it interesting right to the end not knowing what was going to happen, where the story was going.

Highly recommend.
10/10

[Netflix] Hugh Bonneville is the real mainstay of an unsustainable thriller. He gives a generous portrayal of a villain who would be a standout character in other context, and even Kelly MacDonald's usual drama doesn't quite measure up. The rest is an absurd story that seems to imitate the suspense of M. Night Shyamalan but that has nothing of the forcefulness of Babak Anvari's debut in "Under the shadow" (2016).
