It's somewhat fortunate for me that the original film's made available on the DVD of the "Mystery Science Theater 3000" episode that screened it (from Volume XXXVIII). But despite that, this is not a favorite or even a decent movie out of those that appeared on the series for me to watch. I rate it a 2 as it doesn't have any negative qualities that dare you to rate it 1 (e.g. "Manos: The Hands of Fate" or "Hobgoblins"). In fact MST'd movies that are just damn boring get a 2 for me. Additionally watching the film as Mike, Servo, & Crow riffed it also made the show's episode lackluster. The three had their moments but at other times went through the motions as w/ any experience watching crappy cinema. "High School Big Shot" also has a downer, nihilistic ending as well, which's not pleasing for someone like me who endured & chose to watch it from start to finish. It could be a good thing MST3K put the film on its series otherwise "High School Big Shot" would barely get recognized on IMDb.com or at all.
