Great visuals and acting. But the story is kinda weird. It just goes from 0 to 100 real quick without much of a explanation.
Very very very very weird
This is like watching a building crumble down. Beautiful in its own twisted way.
A very challenging movie to absorb, great performances from Hiddlestone and Evans, terrific location and stunning cinematography didn't save the disjointed plot and careless editing. Perhaps the director let the visuals overtake the script or perhaps it was the 'unfilmable' book it was based on, that made so much of it incoherent.
What the hell were the writers smoking with they made this film?
Not pulled off well. Stellar cast and great visuals but felt very long and went crazy without justification/explication.
Social commentary from a bot on autopilot. Captain Obvious called and he wants his movie back.
Seriously this is not bad for a vertical version of "snowpiercer".
Gorgeous art direction and cinematography. Great actors. And everything you love to hate about (British) society.
"You can't send him over the edge, he owes me a game of squash. "
I love weird movies, but I couldn't finish this one. The violence against animals was too much for me.
Some really interesting ideas, some great dialogues, loved the tone overall. I didn't love the movie but it definitely left me wanting to read the book this was based on.
Looks good. Good potential. I had trouble getting into it and believing it.
The visuals with its set design are beautiful and worth more my two points. And I know it is difficult to translate the book into a movie. But what made it a huge disappointment for me was the lack of a convincing character development in its course. The actors are great, their guidance though seems to have been misleading.
If director Ken Loach took acid this is the kind of film he would make. A bonkers adaptation of JG Ballard's 'unfilmmable' novel, it is the kind of film you need to see twice if only to try and make sense of it all.
Leave the real world behind. Welcome to the high life
I hadn't read any reviews before watching this. I wish I had, I'd have given it a miss.
Very visual, totally weird or at least to me it was totally weird. Very artistically expressive
That was weird as fuck!!!
Yeah you should watch this, weird as fuck but it definitely leaves an impression.
The visuals and acting are really quite beautiful, and the reflection on society within the movie is interesting to say the least.
The comment by Matthias is spot on

Whatever it was the writers were smoking, it had to be awesome.
High-Rise is basically just a huge mind fuck with a lot of beautiful shots and a story that's been told in a way that's really not easy to get. So you have to pay close attention to everything and let the mind fuck get the better of you.
I think the best way to describe it in detail is not to describe it at all.
Obviously this is an artsy, drug-induced reflection of today's society and all the gaps there are within, as well as a, on first glance, weird social experiment. But everything that's beneath this twisted surface is something that each and every viewer has to explore for themselves.
Is it a good movie? I have no idea.
Did I like it? I have no idea.
What's certain is that it definitely made some kind of impact on me, which is the only thing I can justify my rating with, aside from the beautiful and well-made production itself.
