Hmm still not so sure what to think about this one.
First of all the cinematography was stunning. Isaac Bauman did a startling job. Just breathtaking! Great shots and great transition effect between the different story lines/time lines.
The plot was okay at best. The execution was okay as well. But what the hell was that ending? What did Gary Shore and Tom Vaughan think when writing the ending of this script??
The pace was terrible as well. 2 hours of this was way to long. 1,5 hours would've been plenty enough.
Okay, see. Do not get me wrong as I said pacing and ending both terrible. But this does not mean Haunting of the Queen Mary is terrible as well. I thought the tension that was building up was perfect. The jumpscares were great as well.
If you ask me for a recommendation, I'd say: If you don't care about the ending and just want to have a good time with your friends at the theatre. Then sure, go ahead it's scary, it's bloody, it's really great shot. I think you'll have a good time at least.

Great storyline. Something different as compared to mainstream horror movies. Could be slow going at certain parts of the movie but minimal and excusable. Filming and effects were good. Recommended for horror fans.
Incoherence and terrible editing made me resort to FFWD. Stylish yet substantially weak. Cheap and cheerful horror made for instant gratification and instant forgetting. Not sailing this ship again and if wise you'll not board this vessel once. Unfortunately I am drawn to ship horror.
1/10
Weak Sauce
Piss-poor.
What an absolute
waste of my time this
Load of Bull-shit this was,
Boring and definitely over
stayed it's welcome.
3 bloody days it took me to grind this
out.
it's complete and utter garbage,
I love all that past,present
stuff in movies/tv shows
but this messy
Nonsense did absolutely
nothing with the concept.
What boring drivel this was,
It just went on and on and
on with no end in sight,
The acting was appalling and
the story was none existent.
This movie tried to be it's
Own "The Shinning" and
failed epically in every way.
Verdict:
"I would rather submit
myself to a prostrate examination"
Than sit through this
Bollocks ever again,
2H 13M of my life
I ain't never getting back.
Atmospheric, visually impressive, but the story is a little messy.
I don't understand at all what happened. Does that make the movie bad? Not necessarily. I'm not particularly smart and may just be missing important context, but nothing made much sense to me.
:heart:x7
This was a different kind of "Haunting" movie. In a good way. There was a lot of "then vs. now" storytelling, which at times was just a little confusing. But in the end, it mostly made sense. And, there is a big twist at the end which was a pleasant surprise.
How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!
I'm not sure why this has a low rating here. It was a very enjoyable watch.
Alice Eve looks ravishing in the first scenes of this movie in that dress (is that an Oscar de la Renta?). There are other great performances as well, like that of Will Coban, who plays David Ratch.
Definitely give this a go.
I found it somewhat confusing with all the back and forth story telling. Trying to mix past and present made it hard to follow.
Still somewhat of a descent movie but I wouldn't watch it again.

The performance from the actor playing David Ratch had me mesmerised! Who is he? I'm gonna have to keep a close eye on him
