Hard Candy 2005

That was incredibly disturbing...I found no enjoyment what so ever in this film. Also, I don't feel I have learnt anything from this film other than some people really need psychiatric attention.

Hayley annoyed me. Why make her an edgy amatuer psychologist teen playing detective? To make this movie appeal to teens, internet culture or just so she can talk relentless psychobabble. The mainstay of this movie is teenage character analysis on a big loop. It harms the movie, because when something important is said it's easily dismissed as more babble. I even missed the point of what it was Jeff was supposed to have done. And when Hayley reminded the viewer it was still foggy. Or maybe he did nothing?. It didn't seem to matter anyway because Hayley was so focused on being a sado vigilante at all costs. The ending had that everything wraps up nicely for the sake of a complete story feel, even against any logic. Actually the whole movie is just stupid. And was Hayley supposed to be some social hero at the end? I actually wanted Hayley to die in this movie because that's how obnoxious she was. I hope she hasn't become a cliché poster girl for every damaged teen out there. The actor playing Jeff was good.

A gigantic shitpile of useless talking.

I loved it so much I bought it. This movie was amazing to watch. Afterwards I found out that this was shot in a few weeks with a relatively low budget. That was a really tight shoot. The cast and the crew were amazing and the DOP, magnificent. The story was strong and the pacing was just right. Everyone needs to see this at least once. The story is against the grain or not easy to take. It is surprising and discussion provoking. This movie was well done and disturbing. Exceptional performances by Ellen Page and Patrick Wilson. Bait and Trap.

Special movie with great ending scene..Last 20 minutes just perfect..Hard to watch some parts but if you concetrate on acting perfomances you won't waste your time..Ellen's Page perfomance was one of the best perfomances i have seen in my life just woww!!

A very pleasant surprise! From a low-budget project I did not expect a high-quality feel like it. Ellen Page is always wonderful in every role she plays. The story is interesting and is tactfully with an issue as difficult as that of pedophilia. Very raw at times and, therefore, recommended for adult audiences.

Mixed feelings. The film itself was quite good, but I don't know. Obviously I didn't feel sorry for Jeff but I just didn't feel like I gained anything... The acting from both sides was great but it was just hard to root for Hayley when she was soooo fucked up. Like really, really messed up. The film itself was quite unenjoyable which was to expect due to subject matter. I just feel like the plot could have been handled better, it felt a bit boring at times (which is weird because so much fucked up shit kept happening!).

Ellen Page and Patrick Wilson did an amazing job. I was on the edge of my seat whole way through.

Jeff got what he deserved. A horrific and unforgiving death. This is one of best vengeance films I have ever seen.

2 Likable actors and a strong subject matter, but this is not a good movie. It's maybe hard to explain why, it could be for many reasons but at the end you just know it. I have seen some disturbing movies that I enjoyed but not this one.

Hmmm… not great… both the characters are unlikeable tbh. And the dialogue often sucks. Though the direction and the girl’s performance are quite good.

This movie was exceedingly boring in my opinion. I've seen way more disturbing films than this one that were ten times more entertaining, engaging and enjoyable. This potentially may be the most overrated movie of the 2000s that I've ever watched.

one of the movies that you don't want to re-watch because it makes you so uncomfortable, although the topic is (sadly) still as relevant today as it's 10+ years ago. The ending had so many flaws and didn't convince me at all. Aside from that, the best part is hands down the actors which both are my favourite - I found myself entranced by Elliot! Absolutely terrific performance and I'll keep on watching everything they appear in.

Interesting and really intense movie. The feeling was amazingly disturbing throughout, which is something not every movie can pull off. The end was simply amazing, and when it finished I had a really hard time to see anyone as the "hero". Really different movie.

Disappointed. After all these years hearing good comments and recommendations for this movie I was expecting more. I’m still not sure what he did exactly and why the ending was as it was . Both actors did a good job but I have to stan Patrick over Elliot . The movie is not bad but I won’t watch again tbh

This was...hard to watch; very disturbing.

I didn't see this until several years after I'd seen, "Juno." I thought, "Juno," was uplifting and heartwarming. It's hard for me to recognize this was done well before, "Juno."

If you had a friend who was traumatized or died as a result of abuse, what lengths would you go to for justice? The character of Hayley has a single minded vision of what it looks like and how to make it happen.

This was one of the most disturbing movies I've watched this year. It has a provoking story and I have mixed feeling for both characters. I may need to watch this one more time.
