It had its moments. I enjoyed Jordon Fisher's Those Magic Changes, Boyz II Men's Beauty School Dropout, and Vanessa Hudgens' There Are Worse Things I Could Do. But overall it was too overproduced and they had some major sound issues. Hough and Tveit had zero chemistry. I've seen high school leads with more chemistry. Overall I may be judging it too harshly because I'm still riding the high that was The Wiz Live.
I vaguely remember seeing this advertised when it came out, but not being a big Grease fan I never bothered to check it out. The cast is excellent, the production is solid, and overall it was a quality viewing experience (especially if you are a fan of the movie or musicals in general)!
Rating: 3/5 - 7.5/10 - Worth Watching
I remember when this was first broadcast and I was so ridiculously excited to see my favourite leading Broadway star take on the lead of Danny and call me biased, but I think he executed the portrayal very well. Personally, as great as a Sandy as Julianne Hough was, I just didn't see the chemistry between Danny and Sandy in the way I'd have liked. Re-watching, as less of a Broadway fan as what my younger self was, it was just a nice easy watch and Jordan Fisher's rendition of Those Magic Changes is my most played song from the soundtrack - he did a wonderful job!!
What a waste of time that was... While it's an impressive production, and seeing it love would be entertaining, it's a hollow reproduction with unlikeable leads.
What a waste of doing Grease again...they have wrecked it...it sandy is suppose to be from Australia... Not America
And what with colour changing most of the actors make u thinks it's not even close to the movie...too many black actors where there should be white actors just like the movie, why change this it ruined it......stupid Jessie j who was kicked off the voice UK was in the stupid movie they wrecked it from the opening.....worst ever live movie ever.....
This was amazing, loved that they added the numbers missing on the movie.
Absolutely loved it! Great job.
I'm really happy with how it turned out. Could've done without some of the original songs (why mess with perfection?) but I thought they all did a great job. Loved the bit with the tram toward the end.
Didi Conn as Vi totally gave me feels. This is such a beautiful tribute to the movie and the stage show.
