RIP Robin Williams. Amazing movie. I can't believe myself I didn't watch it until this time...
The dialog in this film is fantastic.
Honestly a really amazing film. One of the best dramas I've ever seen.
Robin Williams and Matt Damon portray two very powerful, poignant, emotionally impactful, and all around outstandingly written characters. I'm not one to go very in depth or emotional in my reviews, but holy hell, if there's any films that should be on the bucket list of "films you should watch before you die", this one is sure as hell on there. The raw emotion that comes through almost every performance in this film is nothing short of awe inspiring, with the realistic yet subtle portrayals of these emotionally broken characters.
10/10
"It's not your fault." God damn, what a movie.
Truly amazing film. This makes me miss Robin Williams all that more and I can't believe I hadn't seen this film before. The combination of intelligence and and endless supply of witty remarks makes the dialogue between characters both powerful and entertaining.
This movie is exactly what any teenager needs to see before making any choice. Not necessarily a career choice. Any choice.
The chemistry between the main character and the love interest felt dry in comparison with any other relationship in this film. That was a little sad to see but the metaphor still stands.
That was just amazing. One of the best movies I ever seen. Can't believe I wait so long to see it.
"I got her number. How bout them apples?"
It's a charismatic little tale. I felt like the first act could have been shorter and the third act could have been longer. I liked the relationship between Robin Williams and Matt Damon but they don't meet until nearly halfway into the movie. The movie also kind of ends abruptly but you could also make the argument that was a stylistic choice.
Williams was always underrated as a serious actor, this might be his best role.
How come I never watched this movie before it’s beautiful I love it
Positive Thinking Tutorial: No matter what you know, what your skills are. It is important what you feel you want to do with your life. ps. Williams deserved an Oscar.
In my opinion this is an overrated movie.
Leave the rating and reviews and start watching it right now.
You are going to love it.
Will: "Fuck you!"
Sean: "You're the shepherd....!"
The only way I can describe this movie is "magnetic".
It embodies a magic that only a handful of movies can show. Brilliant, touching, powerful experience.
robin williams guiding white boys is my new favorite cinematic universe
I have no words to say, how much I love this film. It so resonates with me - and it was really to stop myself from crying. I'll rewatch from time to time - It's now my favourite.
For me, it's The Film.
Thank you, Matt and Ben, for this incredible story.
Matt Damon and Robin Williams are both very good. I could watch them just talk for an entire movie.
great movie from great actors
Wish Matt Damon and Ben Affleck would write more screenplays together because this movie is a beauty. Robin Willaims is stellar R.I.P. Damon is great the whole movie just feels so real.
Watch this film immediately. Watch this film immediately. Watch this film immediately.
RIP Robin Williams & Elliott Smith. Two amazingly talented individuals who sadly took their own life.
I really liked this actually. I usually don't like feel-good movies like this (The Shawshank Redemption is one of my lowest-rated movies of all time LOL), but this was just great. There was always something to keep me interested, and it felt relatable in some ways. Took a second for me to buy into Will Hunting's "I'm a smart frat bro" thing but overall very good.
The only regret I have is watching it so late. Don't commit the same mistake.
It's a beautiful movie. Robin Williams as a therapist and the dialogues.
Made me cry, immersed myself too deep haha
The therapist was so bad like really unprofessional straight away i am so confused about why it’s kinda framed like he’s great but like man that was so weird of him
also i got bored again in this one so idk what happened in the middle
Good movie from acting script writing and can teach you about self growth
Can't believe Matt Damon and a Ben Affleck wrote this. Will for sure be watching this gem again. The amount of heart this has, was so fucking welcome.
If someone says they don't need therapy or don't see the point of it, show em this. Show em that even a person who has happiness and swagger doesn't mean that there isn't more in life to learn. And it doesn't always have to be from a therapist, any positive source in your life can be lifechanging.
And I wish Robin Williams was my therapist.
One word. Beautiful !
You have to watch this movie at least once in your life time.
Beautiful movie, with some great dialogue. The amazing dynamic between Williams (R.I.P.) and Damon brings it together. Such a good watch!
Superb acting and moments throughout this film. The best part of the movie is all of the therapy scenes in my opinion. Though the parts outside of it help build character and reveal more about Will, the most interesting and enjoyable parts are the therapy bits. Another great moment is when Chuckie tells Will about his opportunity. This movie actually made me think about being good at something, but not wanting to do it. Though, the movie doesn't really explore it that much because most of the exploring is done on Will and him opening up to others. There are some scenes with Sean and Gerald discussing all of these things, which I also found intriguing, but it stops there and never develops further. I mean I guess it does. Will finally takes his opportunity, but then at the very end throws it away. So, I am kinda confused about how all of that works out. The ending and movie itself are more about Will opening up to others instead of his opportunities and acknowledging his ability IMO. To me, the ending showed Will giving up his opportunity and friends and going all the way over to meet some girl he knew for a little. I guess Will could eventually come back and even get a job there, but it was weird. That is why I am overall confused with this movie. I probably didn't understand it too well, but that was my experience. Despite all of that, I found it very intriguing to think about these different aspects, and it was also a very well-made film.
At Time of Review:
Low 8/10
Story and Characters: 8/10
Presentation: 8/10
Enjoyability: 7/10
it's not Just Another movie, It's Therapy, you'll learn and understand so much about things that matters, just watch it and you'll have a great time I promise,
WORTH WATCH!NG.
If there is no extraordinary talent, when will the soul be redeemed?
So great!
'Good Will Hunting' is a film I had heard many a great thing about but had never actually seen it so didn't know anything about the plot - so much so that I genuinely thought it was about the good will of hunting or something... and certainly not about a character named Will Hunting! The poster makes it look like a film of that sort, in my defence.
I also didn't realise, aside from the lead two, that the cast list was so stacked until the credits came up at the start. The names didn't let me down either, as the acting is superb across the board. Matt Damon and Robin Williams are truly outstanding together, I already rate them from other productions so I'm glad I can add another cracker to their respective filmographies.
Even away from Messrs Damon and Williams, you've got very good displays from the likes of Stellan Skarsgård, Minnie Driver (emotionally, particularly, excellent) and Ben Affleck. Pretty impressive that it was written by both Affleck and Damon too!
The plot is great, the way the friendship builds between Will (Damon) and Sean (Williams) is so beautifully done. Both characters are very interesting, even if I didn't buy the genius of Will at all at first but I quickly let that go as the film does such a grand job at crafting everything together around it.
In short, it's ace! Glad I finally checked it out.
I think one of the greatest movies ever made. I know that is bold statement, especially considering it has quite a predictable story arc. The performances by Damon, Driver, Skarsgård and Williams are phenomenal. A brilliant movie.
Didn't really do anything for me.
If you've not seen it, Good Will Hunting is without doubt a "renter", and I think after seeing it, it's one you'll want to own to watch again and again.
"I just got her number, how do you like them apples?"
"Give us a kiss!"-joke
Great laughs ^_^
Will always be a good movie...
