I'm not well acquainted with Giacometti's life or work, but this film is an interesting look into a mad man's process.
This film is like posing for a portrait: long, repetitive and tiresome. I felt I was supposed to like this Final Portrait as it had art, Paris and jazz, but the film didn't try to give me enough of any of those to care.

On the surface, this feels like a slight piece of filmmaking. Yet, like any great art, it is also finely nuanced, with much to enjoy beyond face value.
