Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer! Just as good and enjoyable as the original! The jokes were always just as good especially the rock slide one. And omg Brian Posehn is in this? Talk about legend! Also the super human torch was so awesome and definitely would kick most villain's ass. Galactus will always be my favorite major avengers threat villian but I wish we got to see him not as a eldritch smog or got more of him. Guess the sequels that could've happened would maybe included him more? Maybe the third mcu saga will be about Galactus?
This is a little better than the first Fantastic Four movie. The Silver Surfer is easily the best part of the film and his appearances made me want to know more of his back story. The Fantastic Four are portrayed again as a fairly humorous group of heroes. I was surprised by how slow this movie actually was until about the last 30 minutes. Much of the plot centers around the marriage of Reed Richards and Susan Storm. The Silver Surfer is practically secondary until the latter half of the movie.
There are some very good special effects except the stretching of Mr. Fantastic which looks cheesy. The planet-eating Galactus is certainly ominous.
Gotta love Silver Surfer <3
Flame on! Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer delivers yet another action-packed and entertaining adventure. When the Silver Surfer comes to Earth, the Fantastic Four must use all of their powers to stop him and his master from destroying the planet. Unfortunately, the plot’s overstuffed, making it erratic and unsatisfying. In the attempt to make the film epic, it losses focus. However, the special effects are quite good; especially the Silver Surfer effects. And once again, John Ottman provides an amazing score. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer makes the classic mistakes of a sequel, but it still manages to be an exciting and fun filled film.
Not as bad as the first but not a good movie.
Overdid themselves with this as a sequel. Just hits right, from the cast to the comic book dialogue to the cgi. Its one word to me. Underrated.
"My service spares my world, and the one I love."
Same 2000's goofiness and cheese, but the story and pacing feels better than before. There is more right about this one than the previous one, except that ending. Everyone hates that ending.
one of my favorite superhero movies ever, no reboot can match this
i really hope they cast good actors for the new roles on the upcoming fantastic four movie for the MCU
6.5/10 - Tbh it was mostly silly. Victor "miraculously" returning, the Silver Surfer who doesn't speak much and raises many questions, General Hagar being a dick, the focus on their wedding, etc.
Anyway, it was quite funny at times so it's not that problematic that the story is only meh.
Still a bit weird (and funny) though that Chris Evans is playing an "idiot". Although not too weird as he doesn't look that much like Captain America in this movie.
And last but not least: Poor Stan Lee :o He did even say his name this time but was still denied entry to their wedding...
THE WACPINE OF 'FANTASTIC FOUR: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER'
WRITING: 6
ATMOSPHERE: 6
CHARACTERS: 5
PRODUCTION: 7
INTRIGUE: 5
NOVELTY: 2
ENJOYMENT: 6
The Good:
The script continues to handle the Johnny/Ben relationship very well while keeping the overall family dynamic front and centre and depicting the Fantastic Four as the celebrities they are. It also stretches out more in terms of characterization, feeling closer to a Fantastic Four comic book than the first film does.
Like any good sequel, Rise of the Silver Surfer amps up the action, with faster, more action-packed fight sequences. The CGI is also significantly better, so the film doesn't look as clunky as the first one. The fight scenes are a huge improvement from the first movie and utilize the team better from the onset.
In terms of action and the relationships between the central characters, as well as the visual side of the film, Rise of the Silver Surfer is a remarkable improvement over the previous film.
The Bad:
Somehow, some of the actings are even worse here than in the first one. Ioan Gruffudd and Jessica Alba are especially bad.
The story isn't particularly mind-blowing or exciting. It's one of these predictably safe superhero stories with pretty little to offer to its audience. It doesn't even try to make Silver Surfer or Galactus compelling.
While the CGI is vastly improved, the effects used to bring the Silver Surfer to life are a bit clunky at times.
I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY STILL WENT WITH THAT NAKED JESSICA ALBA GAG!
Disappointingly, the Silver Surfer isn't utilized all that much as a villain before making him an ally against Doctor Doom. He's a very shallow character when compared to his more complex counterpart in the comics.
The worst offence in terms of characterization comes from the film depicting Galactus as this massive space maelstrom, which is not accurate to the comics at all. Worse yet, there's no good reason for this change.
This film marks one of the rare cases where a previous supervillain returns for a rematch. The only problem is that Doom has no good reason to be in this move at all.
The Ugly:
A silvery, naked Doug Jones is a pretty creepy thing to see.
WACPINE RATING: 5.29 / 10 = 2,5 stars
Slightly worse than the first one but at least it's short. The story is very silly and the silver surfer feels under used.
This movie is really bad but somehow it managed to be entertaining.
I honestly had fun and I didn't feel like I was wasting my time which is kind of a miracle considering I can't rate it more than 3/10!
Nothing worth watching, but it is watchable, and definitely better rhen the newest one.

A goofier good time than even the first film.
