Actually a nice dark thriller, some flaws though (the kid being OK with everything, we know more already than the protagonist, which kinda ruins the ending if you pay attention). But, this is a very solid thriller and worth a watch for sure!
Denzel is great as always in this but the film is average. Plot is OK and story is OK too but lacks background detail. Could have been much better.

Damn, it's probably been 20 years since I last watched this, and I'd completely forgotten how horrifying the concept of a demon being able to possess anyone without any obvious signs was. You hear "demon possession" and the first thing people think of is The Exorcist, but this is an entirely different, clever take on the concept.
I thought the feel-good movies that had happy endings were outdated during the last decade but oh no, here's a movie from the late 90s that ended with the character failing miserably and making us watch him struggle for nothing.
I'm very "mine ". The ending turned comical, ina way, the film has great sentences, the suspense is very climatic and I even believed it would have a romance but it was more for a tragic romance than a novel itself.
I like the cast but the movie felt like it was trying to be Seven.
Nice idea for a plot and a solid performance by Denzel Washington make this an enjoyable thriller, although I would have liked some more details about Azazel...
