This had so much potential and they ruined it. The huge majority of the movie is about a love story and not the creation of the Eiffel Tower.
If you want to make a love story, make a separate love story movie. The creation of the tower and the obstacles and all the other things is so much more interesting. The story should have focused on that.
It's surprising the interest to create suspense for a story that has no mystery, a wrong approach that makes this biopic a useless effort. The Cesar awards nominations highlighted the only really remarkable aspects, in a film that neither the always correct Romain Duris nor the seductive look of Emma Mackey can save from conventionalisms, starring in a love story as passionate as it is bland.

I learned that Gustave Eiffel was good at creating the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty and soap operas.
Rather than exploring the man's genius and accomplishments, the film fills its runtime with tawdry erections which are far less stable and totally insignificant.
This is a biopic where they decided to create a more boring life rather than show his certainly more fascinating real one.
But good thing his girlfriend's name didn't start with a 'Z'! (You had to be there.)
