Loved it, one of those movies that i may never forget about.

There was a lot I liked about this movie, but I also found it to be pretty dull at moments. I thought the first half of the movie was certainly better than the second, and I loved everything to do with the scenes in the bar.

There is no real plot or any character development, it's pretty shallow. I loved it though. Probably the most cathartic film experience i've ever had.

Is this great cinema? Probably not. Is it Tarantino's best work? No way. Is it WAY more fun than I was expecting? Yes!

I like Tarrantino Movies. No really, i am serious. But this. Well. I don't know. It should be old-fashioned, but instead it was a long boring movie with a very long boring last act.

In the end i can say: Wow, what a bad movie. And i don't mean completly bad. Just in Terms of dialogues, scene length and movie stucture. So in Terms of a Tarrantino Movie REALLY bad.

Pretty decent show with a great cast. It is one of those shows though that has so much dialog in it that it just isn't really re-watchable.

My first Quentin Tarantino movie was Django unchained and since then, I have explored the Tarantino cinematic universe multiple times. I watched all of his movies multiple times...all except death proof, reason being every time it's brought up, it's usually something negative. So negative that even most Tarantino movie ranking lists exclude it like it never happened.
Well, I finally decided to give it a try in 2024 and...it's way better than i expected.

Death Proof but not Bitch Proof

It takes a good 45 minutes before the fun starts but the payoff is worth it. The acting is awesome all around, can't even pick a favorite. Vanessa Ferlito gave me Mia Goth vibes for some reason. The characters are so cool and badass that even when there's no action on-screen I was totally captivated. Great dialogue, nice soundtrack and good-looking movie. Stuntman Mike is an interesting character, I wanted more backstory. The car chases are phenomenal, I don't even know how they could film most of these. Amazing third act and one of the most satisfying endings i've ever seen!?

"Get ready to fly, bitch."

"Cheers, Butterfly. The woods are lovely, dark, and deep. And I have promises to keep. Miles to go before I sleep. Did you hear me, Butterfly? Miles to go, before you sleep."

It may not be Quentin Tarantino's best work, but it's still solid. It's sexy, creepy, thrilling, and has a fantastic ending.

Tarantino’s homage to genre movies from the 70s. Watch this together with Planet Terror for the full experience. Love it.

Grindhouse presents Quentin Tarantino's homage to exploitation films. In regards to making a film look like a B-movie, he nailed it. I like the overall aesthetic and it makes me wish I could go back and watch the Grindhouse double feature in theaters because the atmosphere would have just been great. I'm not sure if it's the pacing or the lack of time to properly invest in any of the characters including Stuntman Mike, I never felt myself sinking my teeth into this until the last 15 minutes which contains about 80% of the action/thriller elements the genre suggests. The acting was fine and I enjoyed everyone in it enough. But I suppose when you intentionally make a B-level movie, you can't ask or expect A-level quality. Fun for a watch or two, but not the best of Tarantino.

Wow. The new classic! Masterfully executed.

"Deathproof" might deserve its fame as Quentin Tarantino's worst film, but it's not as bad as everyone says. Almost shot as a joke, it was originally part of a double feature with Rodriguez meant to pay homage to old exploitation films. It might be self-indulgent and too verbose to explore such unlikeable characters, but the action scenes are a real pleasure to watch. The problem is that there is literally no plot, and that we are pretty much asked to the same thing repeated twice with different characters and two opposite outcomes. The first part has a more intriguing atmosphere and its own impactful climax, but the second part's ending is possibly Tarantino's most hilarious and, in its own way, cathartic. Stupid as it might seem, it's still pretty unique for a slasher film. Kurt Russell was great as Stuntman Mike to the point of feeling bad for him once he becomes the prey.

You gotta love and appreciate Tarantino's style to enjoy Death Proof, because this is the least mainstream film of his that I've ever watched. Definitely not for the masses.

Death Proof is an ok movie it’s fun Tarantino having fun. I don’t know if Tarantino was trying to make this a bad movie on purpose but it ended up being such a well made bad movie it’s good. It’s a crazy fun movie that really gets crazy near the end. The plot is just so bad it’s good. The writing is good there’s some funny conversations and dialogue. The acting is alright no standouts same with the characters there is no memorable characters. Quentin Tarantino is just having fun with this movie this whole movie is a homage to older grindhouse films. The action is pretty good. The car chases are cool and the stunts are great( obviously for a movie about stunt people). A few scenes had me very surprised like the car crash and crazy ending. Overall it’s a ok movie that’s a fun Tarantino movie that after the movies over will have you thinking “ what did I just watch”.

( 6 out of 10)

My least favorite Tarantino movie. It's ok but nowhere near his best. The car chases are great and the ending is fantastic but I never really cared that much for the characters.

*Note to self: stick to the theatrical cut.

First half is so boring and all aesthetics aside, it’s not til the second half do I start enjoying this. Lags so long and the first group of girls are so tryhard :face_vomiting: Not until one hour in do you get a group of girls with seemingly actual chemistry and organic interaction.

Damn. What did I just watch? Fortunately, I slept through the movie only to be awake at the car chase scene. If you want to enjoy the movie, just turn your frontal lobe off for only two hours. Totally badass, Tarantino style!

Nice surprise, this movie. But the second ride really bothered me. They have a gun, so why not use it? Instead they throw their arms around, screaming and cursing. And they had so many opportunities to end the chase otherwise too. I know that I shouldn't expect too much logic from such movies, but still ... that part was disappointing.

I loved it, this is the proof that you don't need to create a deep story to make a good movie. I liked how the movie has like two completely different stories, really entertaining.
