While I realize that this film is based upon actual events, it has a pretty hard Christian bent to it, especially for a Disney film, so much so that it actually feels like what would be considered a Christian movie. It's not a bad film by any stretch, but it's quite saccharine in its emotional tone. One thing I didn't particularly care for was how Sammy Brown was presented as an afterthought in regard to her participation in the making, and performance, of the music. Yes, this film was about Zach Sobiech, but he was a performer in a three-person band, and the movie cut one of the performers completely out of the film while relegating the other to backseat status. It just didn't feel right.

Good cast dynamic with a killer soundtrack..go watch it now
Made me cry like a baby
After stumbling across this one by chance in 2020 and loving it, I was very happy to choose to revisit this week as a part of my movie club. The terminal illness trope IS overplayed, and often makes me brush it off a smidge more than I should…but this one is different. I love this movie. I love this soundtrack. This one hits all the feels. I’ll watch this many more times, and this is comfortably my favorite movie of 2020.
Rating: 5/5 - 9.5/10 - Highly Recommend
Life can play perfidiously, the key is not to give up.
I already know i'm gonna cry over this
Bloody onion cutter ninjas. My eyes are burning.
Holy heck. not what i expected at all. Still good though, only a one time watch for me.
A sad yet hopeful movie, and a fitting tribute to Zach who gave hope to many,
THE WACPINE OF ‘CLOUDS’

The Good:
The family dynamic is well-depicted and feels realistic. The way Zach, his parents and siblings act with each other and react to their surrounding world is natural.
There's that cosy, friendly atmosphere over most of the film, with moments of tension now and then reminding us that things aren’t all that well. The final act turns up the emotional dial and is very touching and heartbreaking.
The performances are nothing special, but they all work fairly well. The actors do very well in the final act, which forces them to bring out their emotional sides.
The killer soundtrack is the best aspect of the film, providing moments of emotional solitude and good mood among the otherwise so gloomy subject matter.
The film explores family and friend relationships better than many similar films, and from several angles.
This is the perfect tearjerker film for eventless Friday nights and a Disney+ Original worth a subscription.
The Bad:
Quite a few filler scenes that exist to set the tone but don't achieve much beyond that.
Based on a true story or not, Clouds is yet another The Fault in Out Stars in terms of plot and structure, offering little new apart from the soundtrack.
The Ugly:
Fuck cancer.
WACPINE RATING: 6.43 / 10 = 3 stars

Clouds is a feel good and very sad movie at the same time so get your tissues ready. I felt everybody gave a great performance and that this movie was put out with the best intentions. For every second Fin Argus is on the screen he embodies Zach Sobiech and brings his character to life, Lil Rel Howery also stole every scene he was in. You learn to love the parents even tho there no perfect family and the music in this movie is so good. There’s a reason Clouds has gone :pound_symbol:1 twice now it and the story behind it just have a way of gripping into your heart and head and just staying there. This isn’t a masterpiece by any means and there are probably better movies about somebody near death but this movie finds a way to make you smile, laugh, and cry and is not forgettable.
