Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers 2022

"Ay Pechanga"

What a blast! I was looking forward to this when I first saw the trailer and damn I'm a sucker for cameos and easter eggs. So many references, so many fun stuff. "Aunt-man"? Bootleg-Simpsons? Ugly SONIC! Dale a "Chip 'n Dale?" Roger Rabbit!! Most of Seth Rogen's animated characters?!!? Paula Abdul and MC Skat Kat! Alvin and the Chipmunks are even here! Scrooge! And even all the Disney Afternoon stars!

Anyway yeah, it was a blast. It might not satisfy everyone but I enjoyed it a lot. Enjoyed the plot, the call backs and the voice cast is good! But I agreed with Darkwing Duck at the end. When is he getting his due? We've had a Ducktales cartoon reboot and now Chip 'n Dale? Hopefully he's next in line. (I wouldn't mind something with Talespin too.) I know Darkwing made a little return in the Ducktales cartoon but I would love a Darkwing movie.

Sometimes some crimes
Go slipping through the cracks
But these two gumshoes
Are picking up the slack

Finally, comeback done right!
Everything works. Different animations styles, subtle jokes were funnier, hell even the voices.
The weakest part is simple plot, but that's the first thing that suffers when you need to reunite characters "in believable way". The twist sold it through.

Not laugh out loud funny but still an enjoyable film - much better than the Tom and Jerry Movie and most of the other live action/animated mash-ups.

Do you remember this? And this? And this? And this? And this? And this? And this? ...

A dull, unfunny story, that's just there to show you everything Disney owns. In a way, it reminded me of Space Jam II. Both are horrible and just filled with references. The fly/mouse hybrids were disturbing but not as much as the so-called "2D" animation. If Disney hates 2D this much, they should stop pretending to use it. Funny how they also manage to have the real actors look less convincing and faker than the animated ones. Not the first movie that accomplished this. I liked Chip & Dale when I was a kid and saw it a lot, but these are not even the characters from that show and I did not enjoy this movie at all. Was a chore just to finish this.

Fukin hell! Such a good movie. This is what I call a remake. Warner Brothers, please watch this movie and learn how it is done. Tom & Jerry could have been way better.

Almost the Roger Rabbit sequel we've been hoping for.

The funnys all came from cameo moments.

great to see Randy! in the steam room.

A great film for all the generations. So many nods, throwbacks and references for every generation of film. From old Rescue Rangers (like myself) and new ones alike. I had genuine laughs from modern day references as well as some great fun spotting older things

The plot may be a bit overused but the film knows this and doesn't take itself so seriously, which really adds to the quality

This film was great fun. My inner child and outer adult loved it.

Long live the Rescue Rangers!

The easter eggs, references, and visual jokes were the best part. Unfortunately, it was a total sausage fest. Even the secondary characters. Like almost zero women. One you noticed it, it’s all you saw. And they sidelined Gadget to maybe four minutes in the entire movie when she was the best Rescue Ranger of them all. Also, that was a slammer, not a pog.

When the most hated sonic design becomes his own character and becomes the best part of a movie that isn't even his.

"Yeah, death is coming for us all kid." - Peter Pan.

Every single frame of this movie is easter eggs, and while that would be fun for some, it only left me asking what the point was. Unfortunately, my experience with the movie was empty.

Self-aware (in a somewhat OK way).
Disney flexing they own EVERYTHING - and what they don't own, they'll just use, 'cause whatcha gonna do about it?

Fantastic movie! More nostalgia than Space Jam offered but with a much, much MUCH better plot. Hilarious and heartwarming. My favorite part is they addressed all the weird parts… except one. And you’ll know what I’m talking about when you watch it… Regardless, this is a must see for all elder millennials.

Nope. That was a miss.

I've never watched rescue rangers. But the trailer got me excited and man this movie is nuts. I love it.

If the Roger Rabbit universe continued.

The references were funn and I felt nostalgic. The only thing that I didn't like was that unnecessary diversity character Ellie.

This was great to watch with my kids..Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers was my show as a kid..And watching this was a good throwback for me..

Doesn't quite reach the greatness I was hoping for, but it's still loads of fun, and I appreciate how much Disney let the team get away with in taking potshots with the culture commentary, as well as the endless stream of references. It's a fun throwback in the guise of a buddy crime caper, that parents can use to introduce their kids to what they grew up with.

So many fun crossovers in this, and the story and jokes are on point. I really thought I wasn't going to enjoy this but I was pleasantly surprised

A masterclass in pandering. I kinda hate myself for it, but I loved it. If you're a child of the 80s or even early 90s, you'll enjoy it.

NOTE FOR MYSELF SO I REMEMBER SOMEDAY, ONLY REPRESENTS MY OPINION/THOUGHTS FOR MYSELF NOT A “REAL REVIEW“, SO YOU MIGHT NOT AGREE WITH IT

well I don't have a relationship with chip ´n dale so its not really for me but it wasn't bad and had a few good jokes, a fan probably really enjoys the movie
Andy and John are great together and I always enjoy their voices

I watched this with my kids, for me I was thinking it was a Reboot of Chip N Dale..My kids loved it with all the other Non Disney Characters in it too..I also liked how they got to add Non Disney Characters and even References to Other Cartoon Characters..I enjoyed this..Too bad they couldn't make it into a series.

When the movie started, right at the beginning, showing a half-real/half-cartoon world, I thought "haven't Hollywood learned they'll never make a movie like Roger Rabbit's that's just as good?". Then Dale showed up as a CG character and I "great, now this will become Alvin and the Chipmunks". Then I kept watching, and the movie gradually started introducing several characters completely unrelated to Chip 'n Dale or Rescue Rangers without pushing limits, at their own pace and somewhat in a quite logical way. And although that may sound messy, it worked beautifully! Granted, story-wise there's not much to expect and at some points it can even become predictable, but since the audience already expects such a thing, in my opinion, it worked like a well-oiled carnival.

Decent movie for a light-hearted evening, but way too inoffensive and mediocre if the idea was to make fun of reboots and sequels. Somehow it reminded me of both “The Happytime Murders” and “Detective Pikachu”, which by the way also failed at delivering a potentially interesting concept by slacking off on writing. The easter eggs and fake movie posters are probably the true highlights.

didn't have any expectations because I've never watched the OG series, I was just there for a good laugh and cameos and that's what I got! I liked it

loading replies

Who was the crazy person who came up with the idea for this movie? messing with half the industry in a Cheap n Dale movie is genius

loading replies

I had fun! Some jokes made me laugh really hard. However, most of the movie fell flat.

The first 1/3 made me laugh a lot, and then the final 2/3 didn't.

Chip being such a downer for most of the movie wasn't fun.

Most of the movie was built on referential humor, which doesn't have lasting power for me.

This is a masterpiece of a reboot. I love how predictable it is, but it never really bothers you that you know what will happen. It's fun and entertaining, I love the mix between 2D, 3D & live action here. And damn, I can't believe we had that many references to other universes... cmon, was it really a Disney movie? So amusing!

Call me a purist but when I saw Chip and Dale did not have chipmunk voices, I SCOFFED. When I saw that Akiva Schaffer was directing I was curious so I begrudgingly checked it out. I never saw Space Jam or the recent Space Jam 2 that everyone was upset about but I assume this is the movie that those movies think they are, it’s solid and clever which is important because meta, referency shit is so over done these days. This is the modern day Goofy Movie so if you’ve never seen that one, just watch this and you will never have to!

It's downright terrifying how good Di$ney has gotten at "weaponizing" nostalgia, and even IPs that aren't theirs...
I'm sure China will be happy to know that the bootlegged movies weren't made "overseas"...

Love the Shrek 5 vibes

I totally loved it, all the easter eggs and tons of references. I'm glad they didn't cater this movie to JUST kids, y'know like gotta make sure Chip n dale are really cute (like those cringy awww moments), gotta make them dance and sing like every other cartoon remakes. I'm glad they catered this show to the old school ADULT fans. I knew it was gonna be different when Chip was watching alvin and the chipmunks and he commented how every cartoon character has to rap and i was like, HELL YEAAA i can't stand that. Even the recent sonic the hedgehog 2, i enjoyed the show but i hated how they had to throw in the dance competition thing and had sonic and tails dancing, it gets old, repetitive and cringy especially when the plot doesn't make sense. I'd rather Sonic just do what he does, more action less effort in making him cute to appeal to kids. Anyways, going off topic, this movie was definitely better than what i had expected, definitely gonna rewatch it with my bf the next time.

A fun movie that is like a mild version of Roger Rabbit. Though, like that it is still a little darker for kids. Just without the inside sex jokes.
There’s some nice cameos and Easter eggs. Some you wouldn’t even expect in a Disney movie.

Entertaining but nothing more. I enjoyed the reference to old cartoons and the current jokes. I love Andy Samberg and John Mulaney as actors, but it was missing some women!!! Like yeah Ellie was great but she got not enough screen time and maybe it could be nice to have more than one woman? Just a thought....
