Brooklyn 45 2023

This was honestly a pretty boring movie. My wife and I just ended up letting it play in the background while we played around on our phones.

-"If it looks like a duck and it quacks like a duck..."
-"...It could still be a goose."

Nazis, ghosts and a game of who's got the biggest skeleton in the closet. Brooklyn 45 is a dialogue driven supernatural drama. It has a bit of gore but it's not scary at all. One room location is a plus but it doesn't look very good. The acting is unnatural and it feels like the actors are reading their lines. Very stage play-ish. Some funny one-liners that made me chuckle. I didn't know where it was going for most of it and there's a few unexpected twists. They mixed a lot of ideas and genres together and that's what makes it special in a way but it also feels like it didn't quite know what it wanted to be. The story feels unresolved and the ending didn't fit with the rest, just a weird way to end it.

Wow. That was an intense film.
