Still not real impressed with the new "team" that Steven Seagal/Elijah Kane has put together (Season 2 of True Justice, available on Redbox.com); the chemistry just doesn't feel authentic, and I'm really unimpressed with the character of "Sarah" (Sarah Lind as played by Sarah Montgomerey). In Season 1, she was this green rookie who was just gushing all over herself to be chosen to be part of Kane's SIU team, but suddenly she's this hard-as-nails, bitter, hell-bent-for-revenge-and-don't-get-in-my-way veteran who's calling the shots; her character comes across as this petulant "I've known him longer than YOU have..." child that resents her new teammates. Meh, whatever. The sooner she gets shot and written off the show, the better. Watching this as a standalone movie, however (which is difficult to do if you're following the actual TV series), it's just another lackluster Seagal movie. It does have a couple of decent hand-to-hand fights, and Seagal proves (along with everything else that he's perfect at) that he's a top-notch expert sniper as long as he has a good spotter. Like so many other Seagal movies, this had a lot (I can't say ALL) of the ingredients needed for a good story, but everyone - EVERYONE, not just Seagal - failed to deliver here. Watch this (1) if you're a die-hard Steven Seagal fan and hellbent on dropping your IQ about 6 notches by watching everything Seagal ever did AND (2) if you have nothing else to watch except Chuck Norris in The Octagon.
