Blackout 2024

Not the worst werewolf movie i've seen in recent years but very poor. Cheap look for a werewolf, it's just an actor wearing a mask and makeup (the makeup is decent). Anytime he makes an appearance I found it laughable in a bad way. A few decent kills but not nearly enough. Horrible music choices and editing. Decent actors. The middle part is so damn long it completely killed the movie. Tries to get all pensive and melodramatic but it's a failure. Barbara Crampton had 2 minutes of screen time and then got out of dodge (I should have done the same).

I wish they'd used a bit more care on this because it almost could have been great. There are just so many silly things, almost like childish logic. For example, he tied himself with ropes to a chair, did he think that would work? That means he never even tried chaining himself up before? Chains aren't that expensive... So basically he tried nothing to contain himself the 3 nights x 3 months this has happened to him, the only thing he did was "distance himself" a little bit? I mean there are so many possibilities that could have been explored if he used the power of an adult brain. There are many situations like this that just makes me have no sympathy or empathy, mostly I feel annoyed.

An indie werewolf movie that has a good story, but gets lost in the development leaving some holes in the script, and also has some long scenes with no content. The make-up looks good, the effects are all manual, some are good, others not so much, the acting is reasonable and the hand-held filming gives a feeling of closeness. Better editing and scripting would have made the movie more interesting.

It was a middle of the road werewolf movie. I wish we could have seen more of the werewolf that turned him.
