I’m a sucker for holiday horror films and there's not many horror films set on Thanksgiving so this is a great addition. It's pretty much what I expected, a cheesy fun horror comedy about slimy alien-zombie invading a toy store. There's some corporate satire but the film doesn't lean too heavily on that. I enjoyed watching the cartoonish characters, there's some good kills and jokes, great gore effects, and the creature looks great as well. Bonus point for that epic final showdown.
This movie would have worked if it was a comedy...... An actual comedy with funny bits, lines or people. Otherwise it's just an E grade horror.
This is part of my 2022 HORROR Fridays
What a waste of potential Black Friday is. The story premise is cool, but the execution is so lacklustre, even the short runtime can't save you from boredom. It's not scary in the slightest, and certainly not funny. Just stay away...
Chris' diss on the macho, narcissist Ken was epic. Other than that, a very poor b-movie.
:heart:x6
I was hoping for a bit more from this movie, sadly it did not deliver. It was watchable, but it certainly was not great. The only saving grace of this movie is that Bruce Campbell is in it. But, alas, he does not act like his usual bad-ass self. But it was still fun-ish.
How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!
But for Bruce Campbell, there really was not much to keep me engaged. Caveat emptor.
Fun to watch but only once. In your lifetime. It sure isn't on par with other Bruce Campbell movies if that is your reason to watch. It is, however, fine in the Sci Fi channel horror film category with lots of cheese delivered in huge oversized scoops.
It was a pretty entertaining horror comedy. The beginning depicted black Friday in retail pretty well.
3 Thoughts After Watching ‘Black Friday’:
It’s so unfortunate, because this could have been something really fun, the makings of a holiday horror classic even, but this film was horrifically made. Everything about it — from the writing to the directing to the editing to the scoring — was poorly executed. Sawa deserved better.
So many silly character decisions. For example, how did Bruce Campbell jumping into a pile of seemingly-contained monsters benefit anyone? It didn’t. At all. So silly.
I know we don’t always need a point. We didn’t necessarily need to know the aliens’ motive. We didn’t need to know exactly why they possessed people to surround a mysterious blob with toy products. But MAYBE knowing would’ve made this better.
Alternate reality Evil Dead!
Until the monsters seems pretty accurate to the retail experience.
Horrible movie. Probably only saving grace is that Bruce Campbell is in it.
I figured w Sawa, Campbell & MJW I'd like this more than I did. There was one cheesy one-liner I enjoyed throughout (thanks to MJW who was the best part of the flick) and the rest really fell flat for me. Wife stopped watching about halfway through. If you like these silly B creature movies w shoestring budgets you may be more lenient than me, but I tried to like it as I normally do give those more rope than the average folk. Simply didn't click for me. 2.3.
I watched this for Bruce Campbell not really knowing what it was and boy did they ruin a chance to use such an iconic horror actor in this role.
Some of the creature models seemed okay, very evil dead but that last big monster and that end was just crap. So bad!!!
It was a short, terrible movie without even any b-movie horror charm. The two biggest actors had non of their strengths utilized at all and it ended up being more satisfying it was over.

Absolutely terrible dialogs. Just mute the audio when you watch this movie. You'll thank me later.
