A fun film, full of the cunning of Detective Axel Foley. Even though it may seem a little forced at times, it is still extremely funny. However, the voice acting change to Axel Foley was disappointing; his voice didn't match well. Despite this, he delivered great scenes.
Even better than the original thanks to the director's hand.
This is a fun sequel where you’ll enjoy it better if you turn your brain off and don’t take it seriously. Murphy, Reinhold and Ashton have great chemistry.
Part 3 wasn’t as good at all without that trio.
Beverly Hills Cop II is a must-watch for fans of action-comedy movies. It manages to surpass its predecessor with its impressive blend of humor and thrilling action scenes. The film features a talented ensemble cast, including Judge Reinhold and John Ashton, who provide fantastic support to Murphy's comedic genius. The chemistry between the characters is fantastic, and the movie keeps you engaged all the way through.
The only bad thing about it was how they couldn't remember to put the same Ferrari model we see later in the movie as the model in the beginning.
I had not seen her since the cinema and I still like her, same level as 1. Brigitte Nielsen, a door works better
While the first movie is a timeless classic, this sequel has not aged well. I give the original 9 and this is 6 at best. probably should be lower. The first one had an interesting story and the power struggle was the strong point. This sequel is a total mess in every aspect.
Director Tony Scott ramps up the action in Beverly Hills Cop II, a hard hitting sequel that’s better than the original. Detroit police detective Axel Foley returns to Beverly Hills to help out his old friends when their captain is shot down by a professional crime syndicate. The characters are fleshed out a lot better this time, which helps to give the film more of a buddy cop feel. And, Brigitte Nielsen does a good job at creating a charismatic villain. The comedy is toned down a bit, but Murphy still delivers a strong performance. While there are a few problems, overall Beverly Hills Cop II is a fun and exciting action film.
What a fun ride. This second installment in the Beverly Hills Cop film series was just as exceptional as the first. It was more action-packed, well, at least when there was action. This felt like it was more plot-oriented, both when I was watching it, and now, when I've finished watching it. And that took me by surprise, which I think has taken a toll on me, writing this. The plot of the first movie was simpler, easier to understand, while the plot of this movie took a little more effort, and because I wasn't expecting the plot to not be as simple and easy to understand, the little more effort became even more. My brain is still processing everything and hasn't caught up to the here and now for focusing on what to write. But it's fine, it turned out fine. Moving on, the soundtrack was pretty excellent as well. That's probably the obvious conclusion, but still. I think I like the songs used just a tiny bit more than the songs used in the first one. While I potentially enjoyed it more than the first installment, the movie itself hasn't given me that inclination to give it the same rating that I gave the first installment, an eight. That's why I've gone with a seven, instead. I'm not sure what the cause of that is or could be, and it stumps me, as it is contradictory to the fact that I think I enjoyed this movie more than I did the first. Anyway, this was a solid second addition to this film series. I'm going to get right to watching the third. I'm a little anxious, though. The overall audience rating percentage of it is lower than the first two. That seems foreboding. I think it'll be fine, I just hope it doesn't tarnish what could've been for when I watch it had I not seen that the audience rating percentage for it was lower than for the first two films.
Everything Axel Foley gets away with is not very believable. With especially the 3rd one. You have to just turn off your brain. Sit back and enjoy the ride.
Tony Scott’s direction and the 3 leads chemistry help makes this an entertaining sequel.
Yes, you’ve guessed it loud mouthed and fast talking Detroit detective Axel Foley is once again headed to Beverly Hills. This time the directing reins go to Tony Scott (Top Gun) and once again produced by the (80’s 90’s) action two-some Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer. For me personally the sequel doesn’t have the same magic as the first. There are glimpses though, Eddie Murphy is on fine form yet again as Foley, Judge Reinhold and John Ashton once again on fine form and allowed more comedic freedom in the sequel than they did in the first, which is understandable. The soundtrack unlike my love of the first has some good tracks "Shakedown" by Bob Seger probably being the best song on the entire OST having been nominated for an Academy Award. Overall, Beverly Hills Cop 2, where it doesn’t have the magic or the timing of the first movie it’s still an enjoyable action comedy. Tony Scott does a very good job, from the chaotic and well shot action scenes we know and love from other Scott and Simpson/Bruckheimer productions.

The first sequel to "Beverly Hills Cop" is practically on par with the first part. The story is once again rather formulaic, but thanks to Eddie Murphy in top form, this is hardly a problem. In fact, the interplay between Murphy's Axel Foley and his sidekicks Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and Taggart (John Ashton) works even better. Meanwhile, the villains remain weak, as in the previous movie. I'll probably never understand why Brigitte Nielsen was a star in the 1980s, but she's not really a problem here either. Because Axel Foley's quirks alone are enough to carry the movie effortlessly.
