A boring and completely predictable movie. The protagonist is one of the dumbest characters I have ever seen in a movie. This is a touchy feely movie, and not a good one at that. If it peeked your interests because it's tagged as "Thriller" or "Mystery" you are going to be disappointed.
The message of this movie is "Don't bully people", but because the protagonist doesn't have an arc and just wakes up one day to decide that bulling is bad, the message seems to be very weak.
Not the best film in the world, but despite its flaws it does have a good message. Unfortunatley, unlike the main character, we don't always get a second chance. Take the opportunities and the people you have in your life, and don't waste them.
Boring most time of the time, but it had a nice end.
Even though it made me feel a bit emotional, which I don't like lol I overall enjoyed the message in the end. Actually the message of the movie deserves 10 stars, that is what really this movie is about. In a world where everybody seems to be over worried about shallow things, the superficial is all most people can see, so I feel grateful for the message this movie sends.
So she dies? :(
I get, from a storytelling point that was the ending with the most impact. Still, I wish she could've saved Juliet without dying, 'cause that's just depressing.
Also, I can't help thinking Zoey would have been a wonderful Belle in the live action adaptation of Beauty & the Beast. I don't even know if she can sing, but she's amazing at portraying emotions without saying a single word. And she has the whole wide-eyed wonder look down. Emma was kinda monotonous in the role, very Kristen Stewart-y.
Boy, you guys are harsh. Enjoyed the film, from start to finish.
Although I will say that around the second day I realized that the objective was to save Juilet, even though it took the character countless times to realize that
What you do today matters...
The solution to the problem the main character is facing was predictable. The rest wasn't. I never knew a movie could have such good visuals and such amazing acting. Yes, it's about teenage girls, yes a lot of the music is made of bad pop songs(though there were some good songs that matched the mood of the scene). But this movie surprised me, I never felt as sad when the movie ended since a long time ago. I really liked the main character, and her evolution throughout the movie. Though like most movies of this kind, I guess hollywood sends the wrong message, telling guys that all they have to do is be nice guys and they'll get the girl is just a bunch of lies. But anyways, I don't watch movies so that they can teach me something, I watch movies for the experience, to feel emotions I would rarely feel in real life. And I have to say, this movie was beautiful, it may not be a masterpiece because of the many flaws I have mentioned but it is beautiful and I was surprised as I never would have imagined that it would have been as good as it is.
The plot is mostly silly or too predictable, that for I'd give 5/10.
The emotional range and message is good though, so 6/10.
Finally Zoey Deutch on top, delivering by far her best performance imho - 7/10. With this movie she convinced me that she'll enjoy a lasting Hollywood career.
Got bored half way through this, stuck it out, but wasn't to my taste
Imagine that - a movie about High School kids that has a positive message - huh. For that reason, alone, I give it a 7 (good) out of 10. The acting was good, the message was predictable although the ending might be a surprise. Cynics will hate it, people who care about other people will be moved by it. Being mean is easy and a waste of life - just do the hard stuff, be nice, it will change the world.
I never really cared for any of the characters. It has a good message for kids in high school, not to bully, but for adults it's pretty boring.
Nothing too special but a fun teen movie with a message. I enjoyed it but it's not a "must see" film. The acting in the movie is good, which I think did a lot for Before I Fall. Everything was a lot more intense. Elena Kampouris was so great, I really enjoyed watching her work. The camera work wasn't anything special but the locations were good.
If you want to watch an emotional but not too emotional film, if you want to lay back and watch a "don't put too much thought into it" film, I recommend this.
I loved the message this film give, and It's so true, appreciate what you have, keep the ones that care the most close, and show the love back...make a great thing to your name... don't waste it... such a great film...
Nice twist on the Groundhog Day trope. I only wish the film makers hadn’t thought the audience was too stupid to figure it out without the heavy-handed voiceovers to explain it all.
Predictable next "Groundhog Day" clone. In the end, however, something was missing... like they didn't have a clue how to end it.
Well..... I liked the ending I guess, untill the voice over cane in, in other words I liked when she died
So "Before I Fall" is a movie about a girl who keeps reliving the same day over and over and over and over and over and over again you know the drill. This isn't the strongest out of all the deju vu movies or whatever you want to call them and sure in most of them the characters develop or make better decisions or become better people and sure this movie is predictable but is has a message. "Don't be a bully" some people think it's kind of cliche or stupid because we've heard it before but this movies message is what carrys it the whole time without Zoey Deutch and how this movie makes you feel with the strong important message it dosen't have much, but what it has is so strong that it makes the movie good just because of those things.
Nice Message
Good because it's telling you to be who you are today or else may be there is no tomorrow. It makes you realize that one bad thing you do makes you bury in debt of humanity, your life and everyone around. Not just friends but look at your family and realize how to mean you behave to them. look at the others, how bad your behavior is. your one word can cast their life. so just be who you are and be good.
Dull, and super predictable. It was also a bit boring and it had an excessive use of music and songs i mean really really many songs.
Them bitches had it comin!
An enjoyable YA adaptation with realistic teenage characters. Zoey Deutch continues to improve in her first lead role. The plot borrows from Groundhog Day a bit but then it goes in a bit of a different direction with that story and it isn't as noticeable.
uh what happened!!! like that ending i did not see in miles away.
