What do you get when you take Don't Breathe and sand off all the rough edges? Bad Samaritan. Boy breaks into house. Finds something worse than just criminal justice. Boy escapes, though (taking the tension Don't Breathe amps up throughout the film) and attempts to undo his act and "do the right thing." Less violent. Less kinky. Less scary. Less extreme. More boring scenes at police stations. More motive. More tidy endings. Not terrible, not great. Just is. 7/10
Needs more titties n chainsaws
Amazing movie. One of the best I ever saw. 10/10
I watched this purely as a time filler but it held my attention better than a lot of films have. Robert Sheehan was brilliant, as was David Tennant (apart from the really dodgy accent).
Possibly my biggest gripe with this was when the police were told there was a girl captive in the house they slowly sent 1 police car/2 officers who didn't even enter the house, yet when they were told the house was being broken into they reacted with sirens & more officers who checked in and around the house instantly
How is David Tennant brilliant at everything he does??
Nothing special, nothing you couldn't predict, just a decent mystery-thriller film that has some chill moments but it can not give anything more. Every scene is uncounted for and everything is without a surprise. Just a fun watch.
I really liked this movie. Edge of the seat stuff. David plays a nut job perfectly. grin
Bad Samaritan is a fair film that has some redeeming qualities but also falls short in several areas. The script is not particularly original, and the plot feels somewhat predictable at times. However, the film does have its moments of suspense and tension, which fans of the thriller genre may enjoy. Unfortunately, the acting is not very strong, with several performances feeling unconvincing.
8/10
Great tense thriller
Good solid story with
Plenty of twist and turns.
David kills it as he does with every role,
He's such a great actor.
But what brought me to

Great creep factor and action in this one. Tennant makes a wonderful bad guy, and the rest of the acting is also not too shabby. The story is pretty well put together BUT you have to buy into some silliness to make it work. Not enough to take away from it though. Definitely a watch for the thriller crowd.
Unless it's sci-fi, supernatural, fantasy, etc., I like a semblance of reality. Didn't get that here, the preposterous meter was a bit on the high side. Yes, DT was good, but I've come to expect that.
david tennant is a great unhinged antagonist, how was he ever a nerdy time traveler with a laser again?? anyway this was good thanks to all the actors but tbh don't breathe still wins out on absolute terror
Tennant makes for a great psychopath. This is one of the better non-blockbuster movies I've seen recently. If you like really bad bad guys and a story that is slightly fresher than most you will definitely enjoy this.
How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!
This is a decent thriller, with some clever moments, but too predictable overall. David Tennant is outstanding as always.
I got about what I was expecting, and I like it a lot. I had my eye on this from the first time I saw the trailer; I loved the idea. Now that it's been released, and promptly bombed at the box office, is it worth spending an overpriced ticket to go see? Based on my values, I say go with MoviePass, discount Tuesday, or wait to buy it when it's less expensive. Don't let that warning dissuade you from seeing it, I'm just sick of these ridiculously high prices. Bad Samaritan has a lot going for it. It's Dean Devlin's best movie, it's David Tennant's best performance ever, and the script is incredibly creepy and interesting, borrowing a couple ingredients from Psycho and The Silence Of The Lambs. It aims for the mainstream sensibilities at a time or two, but I was happy that it treated itself seriously for the majority of it's two hours. It has an engaging concept, that employs most of it's potential. It like keeps track of everything the audience may pick out as something that could've happened, and actually follows up on it. Quick example, Tennant opens a video chat with the robber? He takes a screenshot as evidence, instead of just closing the phone in fear, or some shit. The two leads are robbers, who cleverly break into people's houses using their valet cars, but then they come across one who happens to be a sadomasochist or a murder. I totally dug this, and Devlin executed it carefully, with great editing and set pieces. The characters acted with realism, like real people. There's something about the way these actors are directed that make it leagues better than what Truth Or Dare did. Robert Sheehan pulls out an unexpected vigorous performance as the robber who feels guilt for what he's done before, and now wants to help this victim. You feel genuine sadness for this man, I did not expect this. I was just heading in rooting for Tennant to destroy everything and win. The finale in the snow is one of the better climaxes in the past few years, beautiful design. All the tension built from the past two acts encapsulates in a stand-off. The big problem is it's undercut by a totally out-of-place joke. I get what they were setting up, I even just realized that, but still doesn't change that all the tension I felt had been ruined by it. However, if you're searching an original, gravely creepy thriller that utilizes a lot of it's premise, believable performances from the entire cast, and unforgettable set pieces, seek this one out.
This movie had an amazing set up, then lost the plot for a little bit then got me back on board by the end. A fun watch.
Tennant rarely disappoints, and he is creepily effective as the film's oddball bad guy. Sheehan is on good form as well, and they square off against each admirably in this decent thriller.
Predictable thriller with a good jump scare that's lifted by David Tennant's clever psycho... 5.5/10
Slow start but it speeds up in the end.
Not the best but worth watching, some scenes are just stupid but others are really nice.
David Tennant does a great job.
Few thrilling moments here and there. It is not bad. David Tennant portrays the character of a very sick cruel person. The whole time I kept asking myself "What kind of sick f*ck would do that." Haha! Still, decent movie, and good actors, in my opinion.
It wasn’t as predictable as dome stated; however, it shows the depth of twisted mentality to the tenth power. I enjoyed watching.
I enjoyed the movie. A real nail biter. I kept finding myself hollering at the moment tv because I didn’t understand why someone didn’t just finish the villain, he wasn’t even that strong looking.
David Tennant is perhaps the only bad guy that I hate to see lose at the end. Predictable movie. Would not have bothered if Tennant was not there. He is just that good. Even in a mediocre movie like this!
the movie is getting better to the end :)
For what I see until now it' a good movie & special acting to both men:) the boy try to rob the only crazy guy in the town ! ! ! good movie
Nothing special here. A decent time filler. David Tennant plays a super creepy guy really well. The story is kinda crazy how stupid it is. There are some good tense moments but some boring parts too. It would be a good movie to watch on Netflix.
