Admission 2013

Really liked this. Definitely expected more comedy high jinks from the cast list but it wasn't at all ruined by being a bit more serious. It ended up having real heart and interesting characters. Great pairing with Fey and Rudd too.

I'm an admitted tina fey shill but this didn't do much for me. It wasn't funny enough to be considered a comedy, didn't have enough heart to be wholesome, not enough stakes to be a drama, and not enough relationship plot to be a romance. All I was left when the credits started to roll was "ok, that was a movie I guess" and really didn't take anything from it or have any lasting feelings.

We generally expect more wacky humour from Fey and Rudd than this comedy, which is packed with perhaps too-smart dialog and a lot of warm sentiment anyway it's a comedy, but a serious comedy.

ADMISSION was a much better movie than I ever gave it credit for having the potential to be, and I never want to watch it again. This wasn't billed as a romantic comedy, was it? Because the romance was playing about fourth fiddle to other storylines (all of which were much more deserving). Rudd and Fey just don't have chemistry.

With Tina Fey and Paul Rudd I can but feel I wanted substantially more. It does not deliver nearly the laughs we would expect, nor is heartwarming enough to make you feel a certain way at the end, and it's not enough of a romance to appeal to that demographic. It is ultimately just kind of below average at all of them. If you do not watch many movies, I could see someone really enjoying this, but I feel there are far too many comparable movies that are better.

Likable actors attempt to overcome the lack of jokes. A movie that is worth watching and has a lot of heart but isn't as funny as I was expecting from a Fey/Rudd pairing.

If you are huge fans of Fey or Rudd, and I mean HUGE, you will find this slightly amusing. It wasn't BAD but it wasn't GOOD either. The story is just ok...it doesn't seem like these two should be in a movie like this. They do make the best of the script they got and what comes out on screen is an ok movie with two big stars. If you've seen every other Rudd movie, you won't mind this. I chuckled a few times. This movie is probably 90% drama and 10% comedy. Bored? Eh, give it a watch I suppose.
