"Hello, son". That last scene sent shivers to my spine. What a way to end an episode! I'm so hyped for the next two. The episode was brilliant and once again, this season's hybrid formula of including a classic monster hunt and developing the myth arc keeps bringing amazing episodes.
I swear Supernatural manages to add and take years of my life episode after episode. After watching the boys die numerous times you would think I'm immune to it, but that's impossible. A simple glance of Dean is enough to crush my soul and break my heart. Whenever he cries, I cry, there's no exception. Jensen is too good. His scene with Mary was heartbreaking. No words and I feel every emotion.
The episode had me glued to the screen. The cinematography was great, the acting was top notch, the music was perfect, and the lighting in the tunnel scene and later with Lucifer was superb.
I really hope next episode starts with everyone trying to kill Lucifer, even if it involves Sam protecting him. Lucifer knows every one of them want him dead, so he's gotta have to play the "if you don't give me my son, Sam dies" card.
Please, give me more Mark and Jared scenes. Great chemistry and great acting. These two never cease to impress me. My heart was breaking for Sam. That dialogue, that whole scene was perfection. It felt like I was watching a season 5 Lucifer-Sam scene. Words can't express how much I love Mark Pellegrino. I love having him on screen. I've enjoyed the funny side of Lucifer, but I love his menacing side. That was the highlight of the episode for me. Sam's "What do you want?" was amazing. Great acting.
Seeing Sam's lifeless body lying there made me die a little inside. I knew he was coming back, but that scene shocked me, not to mention Dean's reaction. That sold it for me.
That dream sequence at the beginning caught me off guard. It was so sweet and tender, like the family they all deserve. Don't they deserve a little happiness? I tried to figure out whose dream that was. I thought it was Dean's but turned out to be Sam's and that was actually so nice. And Mary as an alarm clock, lol.
The scrotch scene had me in stitches. I need to see the bloopers. I wonder how much fun they had shooting it. Dean nailed the superhero landing.
That first rift flattening out and everyone tilting their heads was so funny. The constant Gabriel jokes were great as well. The Rowena and Gabriel scene was so weird. It looked like a soap opera, very Casa Erotica like. But I actually enjoyed it. The look on the boys' faces when they walked in on them, and Cas with his head down, lol.
Speaking of Rowena, she's starting to be one of my favourite characters on the show. "Three amigos with their bro hugs, pep talk and melodrama". Nailed it!
I'm assuming "Camptown Ladies" is tied to evil stuff. They also used it as the passcode to get to hell two seasons ago, and now Lucifer got to sing it. That whole scene cracked me up. Gotta love Lucifer's tunes.
The tunnel scene gave me Lord of the Rings vibes: they going through the tunnel as if it were the Mines of Moria; the vampires as if they were orcs, and Sam dying but coming back to life like Gandalf. That said, the scene felt claustrophobic and anxiety-inducing.
Sam getting bit shocked me. I literally screamed at my TV. It was a wtf moment for me. My brain wasn't processing. So unexpected when there're still two episodes left. I knew he'll be back but I suffered. Loved the use of the glowsticks and how the lighting emphasized Sam's dry blood. Easily, the best scene this episode.
I loved Jack at the end, verbalizing all the emotions I went through. I loved seeing him being all happy when Sam appeared. This baby is too pure for this world.
If there's one thing I didn't like was Cas comparing Sam's torture with him being possessed by Lucifer. What he said in that kitchen scene wasn't accurate. Yes, he was possessed but Lucifer left him there watching TV without bothering him, whereas Sam was constantly tortured, day in day out.
However heartbreaking it is to see Sam like this, I'm glad the writers have finally decided to address Sam's fear of Lucifer, especially since he apparently got over it so easily in season 11. I always wondered how the hell could he help Lucifer recover back in season 11 after everything he did to him.
Anyhow, excellent episode for me. It gave me Wendigo vibes. I'm so excited for what happens next in their custody battle over Jack. I'm so looking forward to see that character Dean will be playing in the finale.
Omg! That was freaking awesome!! The music, Dean's face..... Wow. It's been a while since a brother died! And tada! Lucifer is making is entry.... Man.... So he'll join the team to beat evil Michael but after that.... What? Big question!
It's good to have the gang back together again, but the devil is in the details. And along the way, I learned that Gabriel's bucket list is different from mine in at least one significant way.
Anyone else feels Jared’s acting feels legit only when Sam’s in a scene with Lucifer?
Two things: 1) Rowena is the best thing to happen to Supernatural in a long time. 2) The Drag Race mention gave me life.
Um.. Is anyone else getting Endverse vibes? I mean. Dean is almost getting to be his Endverse!self....
No, you didn't skip an episode. Keep watching
