So. No Malina kiss. Huh. Interesting.
Also, why couldn't the collar have been a simple piece resting on her neck? Why did they have to fuse the stag's antlers into her skin? That's gonna suck for the make up team going forward.
I love when a story can make you feel for the "bad guy"
Some pretty interesting developments. Alexander's backstory explains a lot. It's understandable how he hates mortals/kings but it still doesn't explain/justify how he could treat Alina that way.
I also liked the developments within the Crows. I feel/hope like they'll have an important role to play during the next episode (at least Inej will likely try to help Alina and Mal if they try something and Kaz and Jesper will hopefully follow).
It was also very nice to see more of Alina's powers like her shields.
Sooooo Alina in the series is a definite upgrade from the book but... dang.... she’s just as naive. Alina, my dear, understand the definition of a technicality...
Can’t wait for Alina to kill Aleksander.
I'm so so so very sorry but this show is so damn funny and embarrassing. I feel so guilty, but believe me I try to watch it with all seriousness but two minutes in and they got me laughing, it's just there's something OFF with the show, and I think I've nailed it down to two main issues, one is adapting something from 2012 to 2021, back then it was a different era with different character tropes and we had a different mentality and life was different, so the twilight divergent shadowhunter girlies were IN, but almost a decade later (and I say this as a young woman) I can't take seriously a show about a girlie who can't kill a damn bambi cause her priority is to protect a man against other man (and i'ts not even about men suck, it's about you have to do it but you won't because of a man) sorry I can't and the second issue is that no one matches Ben's acting nor energy, so it looks like he got lost on his way to the hbo set and ended up on the cw set (Inej and Kaz kinda match his energy, Kaz and the darkling's scene was good, but that's it), and I'm not calling anyone a bad actor, and for most of them this is like their break out role, it's just that you can totally sense two different mindsets, there's GoT and The Witcher (see Netflix can produce a quality fantasy period show with good acting) and then there's The Vampire Diaries and sometimes even Riverdale.
Now back to the episode:
WHY ON EARTH DIDN'T ALEKSANDER USED HIS POWERS 10 SECONDS EARLIER? That way that girlie from the past wouldn't have died and the fold wouldn't exist... just saying, common sense.
HOW IS ALEKSANDER A "STUPID FOOL" for killing the damn bambi? please explain it to me Alina, cause it looks like he's the only one with a brain cell (it took him some centuries, but that was a smart choice for him)
HOW MANY TIMES HAS ALINA EXCLAIMED "MAL!" like her script is 75% "mal, mal, mal, mal" like you are not his nanny, let him be, he is smart and capable of keeping himself alive, please stop focusing on Mal and try using your powers.
And like I concluded in episode 5, obviously now Darklina is a thing of the past and things got kinda creepy kinda quickly, like when you see them together you could never imagine they were in a relationship? (were they? I don't think so, it was just a hook up? an interrupted hook up?) it's so weird, cause when they are together in a room there's no indication of chemistry, history, no subject at all, but then he goes to the other room with Mal and tells him he'll wait for Alina, and that they are equals, and he is so passionate but then they are together and it's like watching Veronica Lodge and Geralt of Rivia, and then obviously he's now a disgusting man who like invaded Alina's body in an awful way so that can't be forgiven (I don't know if this happens on the book or in a different way?) so HE'S OVER.
I don't know man, this is weird, but very funny so okay.
Jessie Mei Li and Ben Barnes give depth to a conflict that in the book was flatter.

Calling an animal killer a murderer, Alina is a based vegan.

Alina is straight up useless bro, this is tragic
Also, take a shot every time Mal has a near death experience for a chance at your own near death experience lmao
