And now we know why Otis is so uncomfortable with his own sexuality... But I'm guessing he'll come to terms with it by the end of the season. But only slightly, because we want more seasons of this precious little gem of a show.
I'm not sure what will happen to Eric. At first, I thought he had gone into the classic (and cliché) self-destruction downward spiral, but I smelled a hint of premature redemption during his conversation with pretty face Indian boy. I just hope they won't ruin the character with all that angst. I mean, it's understandable that he's feeling that way, that's also him growing up, as a person, but I don't want to see him deviate too much from his joyful self. Also, I hope Otis will eventually get to him. I find their friendship more heartwarming and real than that of those kids from Stranger Things.
Of course, Otis' scene with whatshername was as awkward and uncomfortable as it was funny. Not because of Otis, he clearly has a trauma about sex, but the girl was a hoot!
Oh! Gillian "Clearly Horny as Fuck" Anderson finally got some! Hooray! Or... Did Otis' panic attack cockblocked her? If so, then it's the second time Otis cockblocks her mom, damn!
And now, for the cherry on top that was that very last scene: so, Maeve does have a tiny thing for Otis, huh? ;) That scene made me go all "aaaaww" and giggle like a little girl.
This show is a mish-mash of Skins, misfits, big mouth, and even Masters of Sex (but for teenagers.) I wish Maeve was more relatable though; more like Angela from My So-Called Life; less of a stumbling borderline with sociopathic tendencies and occasional ill-tempered bursts of empathy. I'm sick of girls like that. Her shoddy background is perhaps oversold to us. But Otis is a good contrast.
Otis should have tried to sleep with the short black-haired store clerk instead of Comic Book Erotica. He's clearly attracted to her and unlike with Lily, it'd make Maeve jealous.
I really want to know more about Eric, he stole my heart <3
Another solid episode, though tis painful seeing Otis and Eric being apart for so long. Looks like Maeve wrote an amazing essay, winning first place in the writing contest but sadly Adam gets the credit. Man I feel for Mr Groff ngl, I get why he's so dissapointed in Adam, btu I still do beleiev Mr. Groff constantly comparing adam to others contributed to his current attitude. Now that Mr Groff found out Adam cheated he essay, things are jsut gonna go downhill betwn the two and adam will probably be sent to military school. Looks like things between Maeve ancd Jackson are going swimmingly, but now that Maeve's brother is in the picture things might change. I dont really know whether I like Maeve's brother being introduced to the series right now, I feel like with all the drama between Eric x Otis, Eric x his Dad, Otis and his mom, and everything surrounding Maeve relationshiops and her lving situation, there really isnt room for Maeve's brother to be a big focus tbh, though im stilln interested in how he's gonna be used in the plot. Also, I really feel for Eric right now, he's constantly been fucked over in his life, and now this time it's been Otis, his best friend, whose let him down, I completlety get why he's just so pissed off right now which eventually lead to him punching Anwar and getting suspended, and his relationship with his dad isnt any better too. Eric's dad is clearly worried about his safety, beleiving that the lifestyle Eric's putting himself in will lead to a tough life for him and wanting him to stay safe, but Eric doesnt wanna hide who he is in spite of the trouble it might brew, I hope theyll eventulaly see eye to eye. Also, its clear the pressure of being this amazing swimmer, and or maybe just him being lonely, is getting to Jackson, wit him now slacking off on his practice to hang out with Maeve and her brother. Also I really fele bad for Otis, whose trying to overcome issues with his sexual repression, which seems to be rooted in seeing his dad cheat on his mom from this episode, and that attempted sex scene with Lily was so awkward to watch. Although not all sucks ffor Otis, he and that Ola girl are going to start dating soon which is nice. I hope Otis and Jean's relationship get bette tho, its clear htat Otis is pushing his mom away from him, and his mom just cant control herself and goes past boundaries Otis sets up. This was also a good epsideo for Aimee, who throughout this series has just been a people pleaser with no concern for hat she wants, Im glad that now she's actually considering what she wants to do, thanks to her boyfriend confronting this issue with her and otis's advice. And now, I hate Anwar a little less too, sjurprisngly, though he's still a massive dickhead. And Remi, Jean's ex husband, seems nice enough, and im ooking forard to see more interactions with him and Otis, though he's still a prick for cheating on Jean. Acting, music, and dialogue were solid as usual too.
Poor Eric... That must be such a difficult situation to be in. Be Proud of who you are! :flag_white::rainbow:
Oh dear, that scene where young Otis saw his dad with that naked lady and told his mother... :o xD No wonder that Jean is still pissed!
Eric's punch sucked. That guy had it coming but it did hurt to see Eric resorting to violence - especially since he was just a victim himself. But it was really nice and reassuring that Eric regretted it and did apologize.
Otis' whale ambience was funny :D And of course that panic attack xD It shouldn't be funny but it was, at least once he was fine again. I didn't expect their sex date to go that bad... :o xD That was an epic fail tbh - especially since Lily had to get his mom.
Jean seems super susceptible to Jakob's pheromones xD It seems like she can't resist at all...
Nice, Otis also knows that it's Maeve's poem. The two are getting along so well now :) And Maeve even sniffed on Otis' pullover <3

im so impressed by how they're showing otis' issues with sex!
