After last round of crazy, I really thought the writers couldn’t come up with anything more insane. Well I was proven wrong. This shit is bag shit crazy. This season has gone off the Cliff.
Perceval and his whole deal would’ve been a one-episode stint earlier in this show’s run. He feels like the last problem we have to wait through before the show fully embraces going off the rails.
The El Royale is now just a town hall and nothing else, even though they've made no effort to actually organize the inside of it to resemble one. I guess it's no longer a gym, firehouse, or dog shelter? Because they're apparently able to hold town hall meetings with no notice.
I love how they officially acknowledge and discuss Toni's status as a gang leader during a town hall meeting, as if that's a completely normal situation. A town council member, and a high school teacher, being a gang leader. This is so fucking ridiculous. I'm actually totally on Percival's side on this one - Toni truly isn't fit to be any of those things. Not while she's also a gang leader.
So Archie has been running his construction company again, and Betty has become a full-time FBI agent. But both of them are still teaching at the school?? Fucking when?! When are they getting time to do all of these things? Oh, right, this is Riverdale, the show where plot elements only exist when the writers want them to, and then they conveniently vanish into the background.
They referenced an 'Anthony' character multiple times in this episode, but I have no idea who that is! The only Anthony I know is Baby Anthony. But surely they would say Baby Anthony every single fucking time they mean Baby Anthony, right? Gosh, it's so hard to keep track of!
(Seriously, though. STOP CALLING HIM BABY ANTHONY EVERY GODDAMN TIME. It's so fucking weird.)
This is the first time it's been revealed that Kevin is the biological father, right? I don't think they ever specified that before. They intentionally left it vague, in case they wanted to go a different route, I guess.
