That was a nice episode

Riverdale is somehow not the worst show I’ve seen tackle the dynamics of time travel. Bonus points for sticking up for what’s right in the process.

  • Tabitha has the chance to ask for a literal Christmas miracle, but instead of asking for some sort of divine providence to help them out of the situation, she instead asks for violence. And the literal angel agrees. Wonderful message, that!
  • The past fighting change in 1968 was probably copied from Stephen King's 11/22/63. Good book.
  • Tabitha using the Hoover files as leverage and it actually working was pure cringe. As if that would be even remotely possible...
  • Why was Percival dressed as a Union general in 1999? What?

It's funny - at the end of the previous episode, when Percival was staring at the statue and talking about dealing with Tabitha, my brother wondered aloud if they were going to make it a black vs white race thing. And, sure enough, they very much make it a literal black vs white race thing in this episode. Bravo. Never one for subtlety, Riverdale.

The first episode that’s ever focused on Tabitha and it’s about her running away from a racist demon :/
