Why couldn't season 2 begin directly after the season 1 finale? No logic in the time jump.
I have no idea what I WAS expecting to happen in this seasons premiere but THIS wasn't it.
I feel like I've missed an entire season worth of storyline. The one thing I did understand is that Madrigal is gone. Glassed. So much for all that resistance talk in season one. I guess it was all for nil. And what about the portal that's supposed to be there ? But if there is one person that survived it had to be Kwan.
New characters so far are awful. That new "boss" is a walking cliché. I would like to say I'm excitied to have the show back but after just this episode I'm more worried than excited.
So will this entire series just be about Master Chief "fighting the man"?
Can't they have the aliens be the interesting part of the story instead of this old "everyone in charge is literally evil people"??
I was very confused when the episode started, a recap would have been nice. Idk how I feel about the season yet v
Season 1 was a struggle to get through. I read that they listened to feedback and will deliver a better Season 2.
Well, we're off to a rough start. The writing is somehow both juvenile and pretentious at the same time. Some of the lines are so unfathomably cheesy, you can see in the actor's eyes that they're dying a little inside.
I don't understand who could possibly enjoy this show. Even the brain-off popcorn munchers would probably find this boring due to a lack of action. I actually enjoy dialogue-heavy shows, but the dialogue is so bland, shallow, and unengaging.
Halo was a big part of my childhood. However, I'm not one of those nerds throwing a tantrum because Master Chief took his helmet off...or it didn't follow the storyline in the game. I really don't care enough for that to bother me, but this show is just so bad.
yikes, this is getting cancelled
I just found this episode basically very boring.
A good start to the season. A lot of intriguing questions remain to be answered.
Was pretty hyped when I saw season 2 is starting. After the first episode, not so much anymore. Season one was good, but it seems not good enough to invest some more money and it feels like they even cut the budget.
But still, loved the first game and will continue watching.
After reading some of the negative perspectives, I thought I'd chime in with a more positive take. Overall, I thought this episode was a significant improvement over most of the first season, and the primary reason was writing. The dialogue has a more natural flow and finds ways to inject tension/conflict even in the non-action scenes. To my eyes, the opening action sequence was at least as good (and I'd argue better) than most of the action from the first season. Some of it is a production design shift, with things feeling a bit more gritty. As for the non-action scenes, budget constraints require the writers to build story around human drama, finding B plots that don't require extravagant CGI. I'm sure this is the basis for many of the complaints, but I'm actually impressed with much of what they've come up with so far (e.g., Ackerson tension, spartan team feuding, visiting knockoff Cortana) and am hopeful that they can keep it up.
John and Riz running at the start of the episode was very bad CGI other than that everything else VFX related was ok.
What happened to the portal at madrigal? Ha family destiny got glassed.....
for some reason I love this show most be the former military Gunnersmate guy in me
Damn they started w the new asshole of the season with full force.
Wow what a clusterf. Pretty sad that they think the Halo series is/was a shooter game… I can find no thread that is worthwhile to the last season…
Is this still the same series?
Bloody good show man.good stuff great
Ah yes. - HALO! Thank you!
Keep telling a HALO story, focus on it being HALO. Even if it's an adaptation of the original story line, that's fine. Just keep it HALO, and please don't insert all the little social nonsense bits n pieces and references that we are all fighting about today. I appreciate a story, that is pure entertainment - not a preaching brow beating session.
Right now, HALO tells an entertaining story - keep it that way please.
Good job writers & actors!
This is one show you definitely want to add to your list of shows to watch.
As for the show content so far, it seems like there's a bit of a slow start to this season. I expect there's a buildup to something bigger, but I'm willing to sit back and just enjoy the ride. Not quite what I was expecting after the season 1 finally. But I'm willing to give it a shot.
I'm definitely missing the SPOILER: removal of Cortana from master chief. I hope he is able to get her back. It just feels kinda like a sitcom with him fighting back against his annoying boss.
Let's just sit back, give it a chance and see where the story goes.

I feel like this show is now suffering from a reduced budget or something.
