One of the things I absolutely love about Death in Paradise, and it's why I keep coming back to this show again and again, is how it breaks the regular formulas we're used to every single time. Like in life, major events don't wait to happen until the season finale or premiere. People come and go when it feels right for them to do so - allowing characters to pass on the baton mid-season and for it to feel completely normal.. I'm not ashamed to admit that even after watching every season around 3 times, I still get surprised by this.
