Catherine Zeta-Jones is amazing and still looks good. I don’t know why anyone complained about the casting of her and Gomez. They’re both great actors and they play the characters well.

So we have a family where the father had his son try to poison all the outcasts a couple of decades back and only one member of that family is still known to be alive. Wanna bet it turns out to be the only "normal staff" member of that school.

Maybe I'm wrong, but seems overly obvious that the normie teacher is actually the sister that "drowned".

Gomez and Morticia look and act and are amazing, I have no idea why people complained about their casting. This episode finally feels like the show is digging its heels into what it wants to be, but I still don't understand why it's trying to push Wednesday and Tyler. I'm so glad my favorite beeby is not going to be missing from the rest of the show, he's such a nice little dude and seeing that Eugene has two supportive mothers made me smile. Also speaking of parental figures, Morticia and Wednesday's conflict being resolved this early was a surprise but a very welcome one. I just want to see them happy (well, relatively anyways lmao). Also x2, seeing Enid stand up to her mother and get a big hug from her father, even getting some supportive words of encouragement almost made me tear up a little. This show is such a nice gift for this holiday season. My Halloween didn't really go as planned and neither did my Thanksgiving so this is a very very welcome addition to my November.

We are all on the same page about the little sister not actually drowning, right? And I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact the writers decided it was ok to draw a comparison between "wolfing-out" camp and conversion therapy camps. Did they really liken being gay to a not being able to shape-shift? Wow.

It's a family reunion for parents weekend, but re-joining with Wednesday doesn't pay dividends, as Gomez is clasped in the laws vengeful jaws, for a murder he had justifiable cause, it was some years ago with Morticia in thrall, had a fight with a normie that led to his fall, but there's more to the tale, a more sinister thread, that resulted in a son and a brother that's dead, while Enid's decided to be who she is, her parents can howl as it's none of their bis, interfering with what a young person desires, enrages and angers, piques, annoys and just tires (especially if they go about it in an insincere and ignorant way).

Still not feeling Gomez and Mortocia at all. Zero chemistry between them and their lines feel so forced. I wish they had made the characters their own rather than just trying to imitate past portrayals. Glad they aren't in the show that much so far. Pugsly is awesome though!

First few episodes, I wasn't too sure about this show (I even stopped watching for 2 weeks after the second episode), but man it's really good. Morticia and Gomez being obsessed with each other cracks me up :joy: And the relationship that Wednesday has with her family is surprisingly wholesome.

At least Gomez was good looking when he was younger, in this lol.

as predicted we get a flashback episode

A bit light-hearted episode in comparison with the previous ones, focused on the relationship between Wednesday and her parents, as well as her brother. It is good that she finally clears her differences with both of her parents. The strange Addamses are really a close-knit and loving family. I loved the scene with Wednesday with her brother throwing the grenades into the lake.

One mystery down, several still to go. I do appreciate it when the writers don’t have too many ongoing threads at once.

There's a lot of fun to be had here, but unfortunately this episode tries to pack so much plot into this episode that the writing feels more paint-by-the-numbers than in previous outings. We also unfortunately don't get much that hints at the continuation of previous plot threads, as the family's arrival distracts the focus of the plot to another looming, yet ultimately insignificant matter.
