Warrior Nun

Season 1

This was really a surprisingly good show. I was not sure what to expect given the supernatural Nun aspect of it, but it did not disappoint. It was funny, caring, bad-ass, good cgi & special effects along with great location shots. Thoroughly enjoyed and hope there is a second season!!

good tv show when on X2.0

I just watched another Netflix series, Midnight Mass, and they used books from the Bible to name the episodes. No imagination I guess.

So, I don't mind different accents, but give me a break. It's distracting.

Based on the comic, Warrior Nun is an exciting fantasy series from Netflix. Season 1 follows a young girl named Ava who is accidentally brought back to life when an angel halo is implanted in her by the Sisters of the Cruciform Sword during a battle with a group of mercenaries; but Ava is reluctant to get involved with the Sisters’ cause and the Church authorities soon come to see Ava as a threat to the safety and security of the halo. Alba Baptista gives a strong performance as Ava and is backed by a solid supporting cast that includes Lorena Andrea, Tristan Ulloa, and Joaquin de Almeida. Also, the writers do a good job at developing the story, and make some unconventional choices that brings a freshness to the “chosen one” trope. Additional, the fight scenes are intense and the set designs and special effects are quite impressive. Warrior Nun delivers a promising first season that’s full of thrills.

Netflix... for season 2 just order 5 episodes, because season 1 had 5 episodes of crap.

This show markets as a bunch of kickass nuns, but then dont know what they are doing till sixth episode and then they just change lanes and the last 3 episodes just make it great.
I now totally understand why creators wanted to make a movie and then Netflix came in and added boyfriend JC and totally left him .

I am surpiresed it got renewed for second season, Netflix got dollars and cheap thrills with trailers only :)

So many glaring problems with this. Problems that could have been corrected had anyone cares to revise the script. The accents are are all over the place here. American accents from supposed Europeans and the switch from English to American English with the lead character. Something else that really bothered me was that this girl at seven years old becomes a quadriplegic and spends her life in an orphanage. Yet there nuances when she's an adult that would never have been learned. Enjoying alcohol being one. I get the feeling this was intended for young adults and the writers just didn't care. That's how I feel about watching anymore of this sloppiness. I just don't care.

The first half was such a bore but the story picks up.

Amazing actress playing the lead in an average tv series

Good acting and a great story but they took way too long on the main character's development, it was like 5 or 6 episodes, that's crazy for a 10 episode season. Then some characters didn't have the attention that they deserved... Overall it felt like it was going to start right when it ended.
I didn't get bored though, so that plus taking into account what's coming for next season it's well worth the watch.

Pretty decent. Some characters are underdeveloped while others are a bit too much. The main character is likable (and cute!) and at the same time annoying with some decisions she makes. But she is fifteen so it can be forgiven ;)
Overall I did not expect much and had fun watching this.
