Overall I thought this was a dumb comedy / action thing…. But I came away really liking the characters, and the finale set up some great teasers for another season. I look forward to its return.
Fun, Very easy watching and entertaining as well. Not bored during 1 bit of the show. It also does a very good nod to the original games so far. Love sweet tooth, he's an entertaining character and an absolute unit! Why can't more game remakes be like this? Don't take yourselves too seriously, I mean god your writing from a video game...
Tongue in cheek greatness, it's a bit z-nation with a moderate budget.
The 'Twisted metal world tour' playing 17yr old me awoke in my brain and ejaculated a million times throughout.

Wayyyy more enjoyable than I ever thought it would be. Ridiculous and incredibly silly but they know it and play into it. Everyone feels like they are in on the joke and the performances reinforce the kooky tone. Anthony Mackie and every other actor could have come across as awful given how weird and silly this is, but they embrace the dialogue they are given and by not taking things too seriously the performances come across as actually pretty good and there's a large chunk of the humor that works because of it. That being said, there was still a lot of really bad dialogue and jokes that had no chance of being saved.
I went into this as a Twisted Metal newbie having never played the game and not knowing anything about it so I can't comment on how this adapted the game, but I had a dumb fun time with it. A lot of the characters that pop up are great. Not all, but most are memorable and with Sweet Tooth far and away as the most enjoyable. They also do just a little bit of emotional depth that admittedly doesn't always work all that well but it never overshadowed the dumb fun for me. The character arcs are quite repetitive but the fun nature of the show mixed with the short episodes made it a pretty easy binge. It has that feel of a cheap, C-level action comedy show but its self-awareness helps a lot and I was surprised by how much fun I had.

Lots of cornball moments, but as a nearly lifelong fan of the Twisted Metal franchise - I had fun with this. Hopefully Peacock is willing to give this a bigger budget for the second season, because the tournament that is being foreshadowed needs to be BIG.

It's a really fun show to watch. I watched it all at one sitting. The characters are great, the game references are cool and a good thing it's that you don't need to know anything about the game, but if you do, you will enjoy a lit bit more.
For me, the BEST character in the show was sweet tooth! man, that deep voice, the unexpected reactions that he has... I can't hate him. even after he killed the dog. it was brutal, but oddly enough, it was... i don't know... it was him.
I'm really pumped up to next season, BUT... i don't know if they will have enough story to keep the show going to more than 3 or 4 seasons.
