Firstly this has decent action but is completely spoiled for me by the failure to portray Jack Ryan as he is meant to be by the author. Remember he's an analyst but in this series he's an action hero all the way. If your making another series don't call it Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan because it bears no resemblance to that. Too far fetched!
I really enjoyed the first season of Jack Ryan. Good story, good pace and overall great performances from the actors. This second season however is just bad. Stupid story and some really bad acting. And this version of Jack Ryan is not the one Tom Clancy intended, he is not a god damn Spec. Ops. guy.
Take it from me… I’m Venezuelan. This second season is an absolute waste of time. I can accept that it was entirely filmed in Colombia, but the story and the way they portray Venezuelan culture is preposterous. It’s evident they didn’t do ANY research. Reyes’ accent is all over the place, at times he sounds Colombian and at others, he sounds Cuban. It’s just lame, lame, lame.
I don't understand how this show has such a high IMDB rating. Both seasons are full of stereotypes and the way they portray countries is complete nonsense. I've seen much better American propaganda BSs than this. It was a complete waste of time.
A let down after a great first season.
Where's Cathy? In every Jack Ryan movie they're married, and their relationship was a compelling story in the first season, but I guess someone at Amazon thinks it's more fun to make him sleep with random women wherever he goes. Just. Like. Every. Other. Spy. Story. Yawn.

I sat down to watch a TV show and ended up reading an F-ing book!!!! About 75% of this season 2 is in subtitles. We get it - they're in Venezuela and they speak Spanish, but gimme a break - one or two lines and then get them to speak English. Other than that the show sucks. The first season was just bearable, this one is even worse. I'm all the way to the second-last episode so I may as well finish it, but I'm not really interested in any of it. Won't be back if there is a season 3. 1/10

Some great actions moments but a lot below season 1. The political story and all the sub plots really makes this a mess that very hard to follow. Ending was good but still disappoints overall.

An entertaining and gripping season. Don't listen to the critic reviews. This season might even be better than the first.
I do miss Ryan's future wife Cathy in it though. Hopefully season 3 explains what happened with them.
I disagree with those who act like this rapes the Tom Clancy material. A lot of this season feels Clear and Present Danger, like. The first season felt more like Homeland.

This seemed like a poor retelling of a certain Jack Ryan movie. I loved Season 1 of this show. Binged Season 2 in one day, was anxious for S2 to come out...it was ok, but in the end, I'd rather watch Clear and Present Danger. S3, I'll watch though, if it gets made.

First season is good. Second season is idiotic. Nícolas "Reyes" aka Nícolas Maduro as right wing corrupt dictator (Maduro clearly is a socialist corrupt dictator), his opponent in elections is a silly left wing "no politician", Jack Ryan is Rambo, the German mercenary is stupid and make stupid choices all the time, the US senator killed for no clear reason, the late boss (other US Senator), Reyes business partner, helps Jack Ryan because no reason, and poor Greer... Bad, bad scripting, bad acting!
