Agg... Have they even read the books!
Edi: I cannot believe that the family of Jordan or Brandon Sanderson have read and approved the script. This is so far from the booke and it have not even really begun. I had so high hopes with the resources Amazon have, but well..
This episode was EPIC.
The first few minutes was straight up BA. And before anyone whines about a woman fighting like that and crying that didn’t happen in the books, you then prove you never read the books as that’s proof you ignore the Sisters of the Spear.
And for the whiners crying the Dragon can’t be a girl. The Dragon is revealed at the end in a pretty slick way with no change in matching the books. So quit crying like triggered incels.
WOW! That opening fight scene has got to be one of the best ones I've ever seen, so powerful I even had to watch it twice because it was that good!!
Definitely the best episode yet, I'm quite excited for ep 8. I'm hoping some of the revelations might make people who disliked previous episodes to think again because it's better to wait and judge them after final product. Unfortunately most people that criticizes the show in a bad way judges the episodes because there are missing parts. It was kind of obvious we'd get those missing parts later to not ruin only watchers surprise. To each their own I guess...
The only thing that made me go "WHY?" was the triangle thingy that was fortunately shut down pretty fast and I'm hoping this is the last we'll hear about it
Also hoooly f. best cold opening yet
If I would rate the episodes I'd probably say 7 4 5 6 3 2 1 but I may change my mind after seeing the final, we'll see.
OFC the least interesting character had to be the Dragon. I knew it had to be Mat or Rand bc they were so annoying and boring
Yes! Great episode. Impressed by the acting, the opening fight scene and the visuals. Hope they keep this up.
Great episode, visually impressive but also with fine plot and more character development for the Two Rivers folks. Quite a lot happens in the episode and it starts with a bang showing a fighting pregnant Aiel woman, obviously this is Rand's biological mother, and the story of how Tam found and rescued baby Rand. Rand's mum was a real badass to defeat so many armoured knights, even when she was about to give birth.
The Ways turn out to be the real "Mines of Moria" of the series, not the ruins of Shadar Logoth as I previously thought. There is even a call-back to the scene when Gandalf cannot remember the right way to go when Loial wonders how to read the guide stone. The whole sequence in the Ways is very emotional and also visually stunning. I also liked the city of Fal Dara and its culture, though it seems that Loial was totally forgotten once they enter the city? It isn't shown what he does next. Padan Fain also enters the city, I thought maybe he would attact some of the characters, but I guess he didn't penetrate the citadel.
The characters quarrel and make up, and the relationship between Lan and Nynaeve develops quickly, he invites her to a dinner with what seems like his family, though as he later tells her the story of Malkier it turns out these are his father's soldiers who saved him when his family was slaughtered by the dark side. In a way, Lan's story mirrors that of Rand as both were saved from certain death as they were babies.
Min is introduced, at first she talks only with Moiraine and initially I was a bit disappointed that she didn't have any interaction with Rand as she is going to be his future love, but they do talk later in the episode, after Rand realises he is the Dragon Reborn and hopes that she would not confirm that conclusion. In the end of the episode, Moiraine and Rand leave alone for the Blight after Rand confesses to her that he is the one. I wonder how are they going to survive there without any other help. From what Lan was telling Nynaeve, the area of the Blight used to be his kingdom of Malkier? I really cannot recall from the book who went to the Eye of the World, I was under the impression they all went together but I may misremember it.
I only wonder about Moiraine asking the Fal Daran woman to send a message to the Red Ajah so that they would find Mat, knowing Liandrin she would probably hurt him so it felt a bit like a betrayal from Moiraine? This was a bit puzzling. Otherwise an engrossing episode, I guess one of the best in the show so far.
It is the worst episode of the show. Is simply boring with meaningless conversations and baseless reveals. I’m really surprised by the positive reviews of this bs
I haven't been very impressed with the narrative choices or adaptation so far, but that fight choreography at the start of the episode was off the chain.
The opening scene was fantastic, great fighting and this now gives us more information about who is really who.
"It's alright. We understand." Do you Rand? You are exceptionally thick headed...
And "wisdom" obviously means something very different in this world. Nynaeve is about the most dimwitted and short sighted character we have encountered thus far. And that is saying something considering we have Rand.
Rand finally uses that bow he’s been lugging around lol
So the Dragon Reborn is the least likeable asshole out of the five? K.
Loved this episode, opening scene was intense but enjoyable. One of my favourite shows in sometime, hopefully the last episode of the season can deliver!
So, the setup still continues. Finally we get to confirm what was immediately evident from the first episode - Dragon Reborn. Glad it wasn't dragged out till the last episode. Don't think the last episode will show the fight but here's hoping it isn't limited to simply traversing the blight for the while episode and meeting the Dark one in the last one.
Eagerly awaiting the finale.
I was getting tired of Nynaeve and Rand and boom suddenly interest has been sparked last 5 minutes
Is Rand a jerk also in the books?
I hope that in next season Amazon gives the show more money, because decorates and cgi are so bad…
But the history is very enjoyable:)
The first episode of the show I can fully recommend! It's nice to see that everything is getting together even there are still differences to the books. Nice that Rand was finally revealed as the reborn dragon. Need to watch the previous episodes again because I didn't recognised his use of the power before.
I feel there is something wrong with amazon .. I'm here talking about the fantasy genre and why it's always weak like that, we have expected so much from LOTR the series but they disappointed us so bad with a poor weak boring deed and here we go again you start the pilot and you got your expectations at the sky but ep after ep you realize it's just something wrong with all amazon fantasy productions
whom feminist has directed this episode??

I am not one that usually quits shows this far into a season, but this show sucks. Soo boring and dislike every character. Could not finish watching.
