Best episode of the series.
That was tough to watch
You could feel the tension in this episode until the confirmation. Great episode!!
Who knew the thing that would get this messy season a bit good again is killing off Mitch and ground every character into that storyline? It makes things about the network again too, which is where the show's usual strength mostly lies, even with the season's baffling choices continue like Bradley's brother bit and Alex's character writing, the latter continuing its downward tailspin since mid-season and drags Aniston's performance down with it for me. Karen Pittman as Mia is pretty great in this ep though.
This was really intense ... very well made ... love this show
What a wonderful episode, maybe the best of the series.
Poor Bradley…
I hope we will see Valeria Golino again, but I’m afraid this isn’t very realistic.
OMG Bradley is such a moron in this whole show. Obviating she knows how her brother gets when he’s high. So why the fuck would you bring him in to your work place. I mean you can easily take him to the lobby or lock him in your dressing room. What a fucking idiot.
Finally a good episode, this season is a total dud, the writing is soooo bad, but Jen is carrying for sure
So, while the search for Alex continues, Bradley's brother continues to unravel and rumours about Mitch's death arrive from Italy.
Bradley soon has to make a decision regarding her family. Of course, she loves her brother, and she feels guilty about what happened years ago - but as Laura says at some point, it doesn't matter where you come from, you can't change the past. At some point you have to take a thorough look at yourself and figure out what's best for yourself. This codependency and manipulation (which is, unfortunately. common with addicts) has to end at some point - Hal's an adult himself, he can't keep blaming everyone else or their way of living for his own misfortune. But until he's able to do that, Bradley will have to keep her distance. Not sure, though, she's able to do that. Especially given the way she lets him, high and drunk, into her workplace - she could have easily had to security staff not admit him or escort him out after all.
Then there's Mia who has to confirm Mitch's death while dealing with her own very conflicting emotions about him.
And last but least, there's Alex who returns from Italy to learn that Mitch's died, confirming it herself with Paola. She assigns herself the task of informing Mitch's exwife and earns the brunt of her anger, all the while dealing with the codependency that's formed with Chip.
I can’t understand why I cried as much as I did when Alex found out about Mitch because let’s be honest; the man did not have many redeeming qualities. Until she called Paola I honestly didn’t put two and two together that she was the woman who was at the hospital with him. Genuinely thought it was Alex . Best episode this series
All comes down to great actor’s. Great cast.
I gotta say, I love these little clicks of the inner and outer circle. Cory, Bradley and Alex with Stella, Laura and Chip are all like they are standing in front of a mirror and talk and talk but can't lie because the other side knows them too well to know what's up. Mitch had something similar with Paola as well, but he's out now. And you can hate the guy - and you should - but gotta hand it to him, he knows how to make an exit. He still has the power to make all of the news about him, pushing a worldwide pandemic to the petty sideline, kicking those people who already suffered from his actions one more time. And maybe it's still not over? The moment when he understood what's happening in the car I think he thought of two things: 1) He's out and noone can hurt him anymore, so he took that exit. 2) I would bet that Alex angered him enough so he changed the statement, and when the car drifted off he realized he can have revenge from the grave beyond. Or Paola will use the footage, eventhough he told her not to. I pray that we never find out he's alive, but it certainly would be convenient. He was already dead to a lot of people when the sexual misconduct news broke about him, and now people will actually think he's dead, he can do whatever he wants, maybe Paola is in on it too and she lied, but the point is, Mitch, dead or alive, is in a position that he can shake everyone's world, yet again, without consequences. He still has that staggering force over people and nearly everyone breaks down because of it as well. Alex and Chip screaming at eachother in parallel, Cory and Stella ruthlessly looking for angles on how they can use this for the network, and Bradley and Laura just silently acknowledge their job and do what they gotta do. I know, I know, this season is not as good as the first one, but I love when the writing's focusing on these little paralells and pairings and I enjoy the shit out of it, eventhough I really want more of Cory, Bradly and Alex together in one scene, or at least two of them, the stories ran quite far from eachother now, bring them together!

This episode is complicated and messy, just as real events would've been. The writers Kerry Ehrin, Jay Carson, and Brian Chamberlayne could've taken it to an emotional or investigative path. Instead, they chosen to mix it all up until it's tragic, riveting, uncomfortable, funny, and numbing.
Mia (played by Karen Pittman) owns this episode, delivering a powerful performance that make her both heroic and pitiful.
When Chip finally finds Alex, there's so much history and codependency between them that you temporarily forget all their past misbehaviors and root for them to hug and forgive. Then as their real emotions come out, it's almost sitcom-like in how these two pick the most inappropriate time to vent and fight.
And there's the real mess of Bradley and her brother Hal. On one hand, there's essentially nothing Bradley can do to help Hal that he desperately needs. But on the other hand, Hal's debacle is a precursor to a more explosive outcome.
These contradictions, or perhaps counterbalances, help this episode feel authentic.
