This has been one of the best, if not THE best, episodes of the series!

June : "BUT F**K THAT"

Awesome episode, a bit disappointed Luke didn't get to react to Nick saying he's the father or whatever, but still really nice to see the Waterfords confronted with their crimes

I am absolutely fascinated by Serena's story arc this season. Yvonne Strahovski is a phenomenal actress. Serena's longing when she was in the car looking out the window, all the little moments when you could see something change in her eyes... She did it beautifully. To be honest I have a hard time remembering that Serena is supposed to be the villain of this story, one of the people most responsible for June's misery. Especially after last week's episode. I'm torn. On the one hand, she is in a pretty awful situation herself, on the other, she helped make it happen. She knew what she was signing up for (maybe not the wife-beating part, but the rest of it). She held a woman down every month while her husband raped her. She's been straight-up cruel to June on multiple occasions. And yet I can't hate her.

Great episode overall. The letters getting out and Waterford's plan failing was very satisfying to watch.

Ah, Serena... One step forward, one giant leaping backflip. There's a seed there but I'm not sure she'll care about this one, or rather I don't know what would it take at this point.

I'm happy Luke finally got some agency. I'm disappointed he didn't get to punch Fred but I'll take it.

Fantastic episode of television. The acting is wonderful. Serena was a show stealer this episode. I'm very interested in finding out what (if anything) is going to be the thing that finally pushes her over the edge to make her turn against her husband/Gilead.

the best episode this season

I know I've said before that this show is unique because it's been told from a woman's point of view, but I'd have appreciated a bit more realism in the diplomatic mission to Canada. I mean, the whole trip was accomplished with just the two of them and Nick? And, for a police state, they really allowed their diplomats some long leashes. I enjoyed the secret agent stuff, but I was hoping it would be, you know, a bit more secret.

Also, on their return, a well meaning anonymous sound editor left in a dog barking in their neighborhood. This means that in the canon, Gilead has dogs.
