[7.6/10] I enjoyed this one much more than the premiere. Less setup, more comedy and fun.I especially like the war between Trevor and Michael/Janet to try to disrupt/unite the group. Michael’s bad Dick Tracy related comebacks, Trevor’s usual douchebag routine, and especially Janet’s frustration at not having her powers were all funny and fun. The entire idea of them having this cold war to influence the group makes for a great premise.
I particularly got a kick out of Trevor playing an over-eager dude who knows exactly what buttons to push to get the group to follow their worst instincts. He knows that Eleanor is not a joiner, and so plays on how little fun she’d have being part of a group versus her connection with Chidi. He knows Chidi gets hung up on ethical dilemmas and so uses the idea of someone conducting a study consorting with the subjects of that study as a wedge. And he uses...well...booze to try to get Tahani and Jason to hook up, thereby making Tahani too embarrassed to continue.
But a funny thing happens. Jason is a gentleman and they’re able to go on appreciating each other rather than being embarrassed by each other. Chidi gets a little push from Michael and Simone and tries to keep Eleanor in the group and Eleanor agrees to do it for him. Sure enough, our guys are getting better, being better, overcoming the things that have held them back in the past, little by little and, it’s really encouraging.
Plus, things come to a head with The Judge, which is a cool development as this show continue to burn through plot. The setup and payoff of Janet being like a printer, and generating all that stuff serves both as a nice special effect and a nice way to get our heroes away from The Judge. And I absolutely love the notion that all the crazy stuff happening in the world right now (like, say, the Jacksonville Jaguars making the playoffs) is because Michael has been meddling in the timeline. The whole running back to Earth thing is, like most of The Good Place’s end of episode teasers, intriguing.
Overall, there were more laughs and a tighter setup in this one, which made it a thoroughly enjoyable half hour.
Maya Rudolph is a true gift to this show.
Huh! What happened! This was awful! Hope it's a one off.
they really got one of the best actors!!
Script supervisor missed a disappearing hyphen on Chidi's whiteboard in that scene before Eleanor arrives for class. It changed to a period between cuts and never went back to being a hyphen.
I think this might be my favorite season.

"Hey, Dick Tracy called... He said something witty."
... I guess I'm as good as this as Michael.
I thought I was going to miss the Good/Bad Place and that the gang being on Earth would quickly become boring... But, oh boy, Trevor is the worst! This show is as much fun on Earth as it was in the Afterlife! And Jason is still like a dumb, retarded puppy that you just want to hug forever.
