The first boring episode of the season.
That Dean Cain appearance took me by surprise.
Interesting episode but I'm starting to wonder if this series would have worked better as a movie - hard to tell until I have seen the whole thing. If you haven't read many comments on this episode then I'd avoid them because people seem to be saying too much about Dean Cain's character. It was a surprise to see him at the end of the episode as Mark and it took me a few seconds to figure out if it was him or not. He looks quite different to his old Superman days and I haven't seen him in anything for a long time. He has filled out quite a bit and has a much bigger more solid frame which I think is a pretty good look on him. He has a small role in this episode but I enjoyed his performance. He's probably someone that will have a big second career and looking a bit different will probably help him to do that. While his character in this seems to be everything that wanted in a buyer, it's anyones guess if that is an act or if he really is. Whit's reaction to meeting him very annoying in that frustrating way that is quite real.
Looking forward to see how they deal with the Mark situation as I grasp onto any story elements that might prove to be a valuable thread to understanding the show overall.
I love how they used Dean Cain’s character to display that even those who appear to be the “most vile” humans are actually still people and are more complex than our initial judgements give them credit for. I also love how the “ideal people” in the view of Emma Stone’s character always end up being the ones to let her down, as if to suggest that her image of an ideal person doesn’t exist and that life isn’t so black and white.
Wow, what an episode! A lot of stuff is happening there. The vibes of the show kind of remind me of Ruben Ostlund movies

Actually the best episode so far, pretty subtle, but so revealing, as we learn more about Whitney, we see clear how the couple is unable to connect to anyone that struggles, and see Whitney unable to reconcile geniune recognition just becuase it comes from someone complex that disturbs its own imposed values.
