The Crown: Season 6

6x03 Dis-Moi Oui

Guess I'm in the minority but I really really didn't care for this ep

The whole thing felt icky, like, I get it, it's suppose to put us in Diana's shoes and feel hounded and the claustrophobia of always being in the midst of paparazzi or even normal civilians turning into hoards (Elizabeth Debicki saying filming those scenes made her feel physically 'trapped') but I absolutely did not need a one hour slow walk into her death it felt like prestige-bait tragedy porn and all the bits about Dodi maybe summoning up the strength to stand up to his father and Diana being one day away from seeing her boys and how she didn't want to be in Paris in the first place and Diana and Dodi magically solving each other's issues and their lives ahead were gonna be so grand!!!!! were just so patently pulling at heartstrings to make the viewer go oh if only she hadn't been in Paris/the driver didn't tell the Paps/the driver wasn't drinking/etc etc they could've had a grand life!

Great build up towards the accident

This episode was so claustrophobic and heart breaking. To this day the madness of this accident shocks me.

Very heartbreaking episode but I was glued to the screen the whole time. Elizabeth Debicki did such a wonderful job portraying the late Princess Diana. Very sad that her story is now over but also very excited to see whats to come in the last few episodes.

The phone call scene was so sad to watvch. Great acting in this episode.

Is it "The Crown" or a serie about Diana ? Because ... Three episodes only based on her ... She wasn't a member of the royal family anymore !

incredible, this episode was so well done!

Is the phone call scene completely made up? Cuz I wouldn't forgive my man if I caught him lying to me like that. Huge red flag to me.

It could’ve happened that way. This approach to the circumstances leading up to the crash is very interesting. And, I kept watching to see seatbelt-wearing.

And we'll keep dragging out the inevitable... honestly, that final conversation between Dodi and Diana was interesting, the rest boring as hell. And those paparazzi... like bloodhounds. And am I the only one who doesn't really care about all those Fayed manipulations/conversations? Way too much emphasis laid on that for a sidenote in history who, if this episode is to be believed, was on his way out of Diana's life anyway. (Would love to know if they really broke up that night or if that was the writer's choice.)

“Slow down. Look what you’ve managed to achieve in the year since you’ve been divorced. A global anti-land mine campaign. Raising millions for charity. And yet you’re still not satisfied. Stop being in such a mad hurry to find whatever it is you’re looking for.
Diana: “You know, Ithink that’s been the story of my whole life. Dashing around. And losing sight of myself in the process”.

Dodi: “Rallenta. Pensa a ciò che hai realizzato in un anno dopo il divorzio. Una campagna contro le mine anti uomo. […] E ancora non sei soddisfatta. Smettila di avere così tanta fretta di trovare qualsiasi cosa tu stia cercando”.

Diana: “Credo che questa sia la storia della mia vita. Correre in giro e lasciare indietro me stessa nel percorso”.
