[6.2/10] The Challenge’s second attempt at a men vs. women format went as well as you would think it would.
As Coral pointed out on the reunion, there is no way to make men vs. women fair and balanced. The men will always have the advantage, physically. It’s no surprise that production has never considered doing this format again.
An odd production decision was not to include elimination rounds. Eliminations were first introduced on The Gauntlet (season 7), and it improved the quality of the show tremendously. While it was a homage to the original Sexes season that did not have elimination rounds, the vote off method this time around felt outdated.
The politics were very interesting on this season, especially on the men’s side. With heavy hitters like Mark Long, Eric Nies, Theo Von, Mike (The Miz), Dan Setzler, Abram, and a strong cast of male rookies, I would make the argument that this is the most stacked cast of males The Challenge ever had. The women cast was also strong with Coral, Tina, Ruthie, Tonya, Rachel Robinson, Veronica, Aneesa, and many more.
Sexes 2 is tied with the original Sexes with the record for biggest Challenge cast with 36. It’s just a shame that production could not give them a better theme and format.
