[7.1/10] This is one of the seasons I recommend to new viewers of The Challenge.
The reason being is that the first third or so of the season is about a crop of relatively new players, so it’s a good way to introduce new viewers into the nuances of the game.
The format brought in 8 previous winners of The Challenge to battle it out with these crop of non-Challenge winners (like The Ruins). Some people felt that the elimination style of Champion vs. Champion was stupid, but I felt like production learned from how lopsided The Ruins ended up becoming by not having that Champions team face themselves in elimination to give that Challengers team a realistic shot at winning.
Detractors will point out how annoying the rookies were this season, but this is the birth of the Young Bucks (although it was a rocky start) and the Lavender Ladies - Shane, Ashley Mitchell, Amanda, and Sylvia.
Speaking of Shane, Rachel Robinson (his Campus Crawl castmate) was contacted about being apart of the Champions team before the season . She declined but recommended that production contact Shane because he was interested in coming back on the show. So, thank Rachel for getting Shane back on the show.
Laurel, reportedly, was a replacement for Rachel and only agreed to do the season for the appearance fee.
The dailies and eliminations were consistent: The first ever 3-way elimination happens on this season.
On a side note: Watching Nicole and Cory flop on that triangle puzzle during the final was hilarious and sad at the same time. They were still stumped even after production told them the answer.
At the time of this post I have yet to see all series of this show but, Nicole is the one person I absolutely do not like & I'll never ever will like her. I hope to hell that she will never be on another Challenge. :)
