[4.5/10] Do you remember when sitcoms back in the day would put the cast in a different location to spice things up after several seasons?
Well, after The Gauntlet III, production tried to do a Survivor-light season where there were no dailies. The players were “trapped” on an island where they were responsible for building 2 boats where they can reach a nearby island where there was a buried treasure.
The twist was that there were only 4 people that could go on each boat, and they must have a key to get on the boat.
Some people may like the politics of this season, and that’s a fair point. But what I hated about this season was the sexism and misogyny displayed by a lot of the male players, especially Bananas. This is the season where Bananas truly became a villain and also became Bananas instead of just John.
The editing was horrible, the elimination rounds were boring, most of the rookies sucked, and I hated that stupid theme song.
Why is this season important to watch? It has one of the most vicious blindsides of all-time, and it sets in motion further storylines on The Ruins and Fresh Meat II.
