If anything happens to Kimiko, I'm gonna have to take my Compound VI and head to Russia
Thanks The Boys... 15 years watching Supernatural looking forward to seeing Jensen's ass and you guys gave us this delicious moment after only 2 episodes!
Stan Edgar:
Then why are you still here?
Are you looking for my approval like I’m your daddy? And even if I were, what would there be to approve of? The company is yours.
No one left to stand up to you.
But I think you’ll come to sorely regret that.
Homelander:
And why is that?
Stan Edgar:
Because there’s no one left to cover for you, either.
Eventually, probably soon, the world will recognize you for the pitiful disappointment you are.
You are not worthy of my respect.
You are not a God.
You are simply bad product.
please let Kimiko the beloved be okay
Yo, where are my Jensen Ackles fans?
SOLDIER BOOOOOOOOOOOTTYYYY!!
LOL @ A-Train's energy drink commercial, parodying Kendall Jenner's Pepsi ad.
So many good parallels drawn from reality, like The Deep's support for Homelander's "hard stance on crime" which is, of course, used as doublespeak to excuse racial biases in law enforcement.
I love how much the writing has improved this season. The central theme seems to follow the great proverb:
"Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men."
- John Emerich Edward Dalberg-Acton
Me: Kumiko murdering a bunch of thugs with dildos is gonna be the wildest thing in this episode
Levitating Guinea Pig right before burrowing in some dude's face: Hold my beer
Kimiko and the dildo fight.......................
Don't get me wrong, I still like to watch the show a lot. But they are dragging this whole thing out too much.
It's clear no one can do anything against Homelander until the last episode. We had another two tries here and at least one of them was telegraphed in advance. Is this now going to continue ?
Someone told me that in the comics The Boys all have powers. Maybe it works when you do that from the start, but it doesn't work here. I was rooting for them because they were the underdogs but with powers they become the same arrogant f**** as the Supes. Heck, even worse then some.
As for the story: Soldier Boy is the weapon, he can take away each ones powers so it seems. Now they will have to find a way to convince him to fight on their side. With the rift, or better canyon, opening up between them, it will be interesting to see how this is mended.
Still amazingly great acting and things like the dildo-fight are what sets this way up from anything else on right now.
I appreciated the dig at Pepsi here
The kendall jenner reference was hilarious
well it's settled, never gonna be able to trust hamsters
A-train is such a little fucking bitch. Just when you think he’s actually gonna do something good, He sweeps the rug out and converts back to bitch status. He’s worse than the deep
How can anybody be such a complete asshole
Practice
That was super funny :joy:
Butcher's acting is really so good, he reminds me of Wolverine.
"How fucked up should the next kills be?"
"Yes"
fkn mental. this show is legit fun. interesting developments every episode
Up until this episode The Boys Season 3 has been solid with only a few dents, but this episode the dents are getting bigger and they're kinda showing.
First of all, everything doesn't seem to be too well-paced here.
Butcher and Hughie just had a convo in previous episode about not showing him taking Tempo V, but then in the lab he just outright stormed the bullets and showing off to the others about his newfound power. And same with Hughie, who somehow got a dose too. Worse thing the lab situation doesn't seem to be even that bad. They don't seem to be outnumbered nor outgunned, and they've seen worse before. Facing Gunpowder, it's understandable why they'd need a V; but this? Seems kinda forced to me as if the writers need to just waste those Vs already.
Still on the lab: The Soldier Boy reveal seems to be a bit hurried. Butcher suddenly randomly opening up stuff while in fact they realize they're onto something dangerous which may or may not have Soldier Boy in the lab is not just reckless (we know Butcher is) but dumb. Aren't they there to find a superweapon? When Soldier Boy escaped, they just ended up stopping the search and went back home. Granted there's the situation with the team, but the whole thing about this supposedly mysterious Soldier Boy and the search for superweapon just feels really anticlimactic.
Then, the thing with Vicky and Stan Edgar. The way she outted Edgar is a surprising twist, and I kinda like that Homelander Magneto-esque speech about choosing their own kind. But it seemed to be paced oddly interspersed between fillers and actions going on with The Boys.
There are a few death flags as well (though hopefully it's just false ones): either KImiko or Frenchie or both with their "one last run" convo; MM with the "you're natural-born leader" convo; and of course Alex/Supersonic with the "I'm gonna help you cause it's the right thing to do." That's just a straight death flag and it's proven true by the end of the episode - which again, is kinda odd paced, seemingly coming out of nowhere.
To note that this isn't a bad episode at all, but it feels like things are kinda jumbled here and there, making watching especially the second half a bit tedious. Not to mention that the first half isn't as packed and well-structured as prev episodes (it's the moment they started playing the "3 seconds still shot" too much that I felt that it's a bit too filler-y). The A-Train Pepsi parody is well done though - The Boys is always the best at parody but I hope they can do more than that.
Hopefully it will get better.
We begin to see a bit more into the reality of Bucher's seemingly unhinged, maximum force approach. Whereas it's already come to bear that MM and Butcher's aunt recognized Hughie as being the necessary limiting factor to Butcher's recklessly destructive and wantonly murderous personal approach to problem solving, in this episode, Butcher gives away perhaps more than MM actually hears from him, in Butcher finally confiding in MM that he picked him not just for his general effectiveness, but for his ability to inspire loyalty and actionable cohesion in his unit, as a strong leader, something Butcher, and more likely, Mallory, knew was a needed counterforce to Butcher's uncaring destructiveness.
Butcher pushes the envelope and demands ultimate, unquestioned authority, while MM is there to play damage control when this would begin leading to defection. But in this chapter we see where that "rip and mend" command structure ultimately leads.
Also, naked Hughie, haha!
And as for Starlight and Supersonic, I think these two proverbs are the most appropriate: ,,Loose lips sink ships" & ,,Discretion is the better part of caution". That, and Never trust a fucking rat. (or a gerbil).
And I'll agree with others, the "dealing with Homelander" thing is starting to get stretched out too far, and there are pacing issues, with certain scenes feeling more poorly written as if they were scrambling to set things into place. This apparently was an issue with reconciling the original plot of the comic, where the titular "Boys" all already have superpowers.
"It's not power. It's punishment."
This episode was similar to the previous one in the sense of an element of underwhelmingness present. However, it was to a lesser extent. That's because it felt more exciting than the previous episode. I know those two things somewhat contradict each other, but I don't know how else to explain it. Despite insinuating that I "liked" this one more, in a way, it was almost worse, as it seemed poorly put together.
I guess another way of saying it would be this. Specific scenes in this episode had more impactful impressions than the previous episode's counterparts, which elevated this entire episode above the entire previous one. I know everyone loves everything because this show can do no wrong, right? But a sense of underwhelmingness still subtly plagued this episode.
And I noticed (and this can apply to not just this episode) there's padding and potentially poor pacing with reliance on Homelander (what he'll do next, etc.) and the ultimate goal of taking him down. An example would be how it took until the end of the episode to get to the Soldier Boy reveal (which was the best part, including when Butcher got to work, as well as the score), despite everything leading up to it beginning at the start; talk about stretching something out/thin.
There was still the twist with Victoria, which was surprising; its likely desired effect. I don't think Stan is out of the game, though. For all we know, everything may be going according to his predictions, rather than not, still with some cards up his sleeve. Or maybe it's the latter. The point is, I don't think he's down quite yet. And there was also the ending, which I think came out of nowhere, and I feel like that plays into this episode seeming put poorly together; it did the 'ending the episode with Homelander tearing down Starlight even further' a second time, though.
The overall things going on are a bit underwhelming, even though some parts are good. But Butcher (Karl Urban) and Homelander (Antony Starr) are borderline carrying this season; maybe even this show, and I feel like Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) will join that club. I don't think people realize how much Karl and Antony's performances elevate the show. Without them, the show would be average. Let's see if the subsequent episodes are better.
Why is Frenchie so afraid of Nina. WTH??? There some things in this show make no sense.
Very repetitive and just feels like fillers for a season with too many episodes.
Great episode, I hope that the Boys get permanent powers eventually, like in the comics.
The hook of waiting to see Homelander get what he deserves is getting old. And he never will because then the show is over.
Is any part of this story even enjoyable anymore? Or is it just a repetitive, masochistic tease?
Am I really supposed to keep watching just to see super-edgy gore and sex? That's lazy.
This episode premiered today according to reelgood.
A train’s betrayal unforgivable— and the writers played true to a real issue affecting a community.
I didn't really get the Russian plot. Kimiko's whole death was really sad.
omg!!!
thing's turned so crazy suddenly in one ep
great lol
RIP Alex... :o He was a nice guy but apparently not a smart guy... :o I was immediately shocked when he started talking to A-Train. Annie didn't explicitly tell him to trust and talk to no one but that should've been clear tbh! What did he think?!? He didn't even knew A-Train at all (apart from his public image). And this is very bad for Annie as well now... :o
"You are not a god. You are simply bad product."
I was so convinced Homelander would kill (laser) Stan to death after that line.
"Your dick's out."
Oh man - they're all so lost and doomed... :o
Pretty weak they can not even show some tits? xDDD
(in the russian scene)
We’re at 3+ seasons, we get it…Homelander is a nut case, but this is getting taxing. I mean bring in some more bad guys or something instead of the same old characters. I hope this season ends with Homelander getting the shaft & we get some new characters.
WHERE IS SAUSAGE OF THE LOVE?!???
I say this every episode but god damn this show is so incredible. I can’t get enough.
Quick Homelander, kill Edgar before Walter does
Was that a-train commercial a reference to the pepsi + kendall jenner commercial?
Kimiko killing a room of men with superhero themed dildos is top tier.
Daaamn. I was really growing to like Alex, too, but... sigh... The risks of trying to recruit from that volatile mix of assorted desperates into what they're trying to do... I can't even imagine.
WTF is going on with the Trakt Ep Descriptions?
Jansen Ackles has entered the chatroom
and it was.....glorious
Well that was to be expected right... I've been screaming this at my tv since episode one of this season... Soldier Boy lives!
Hughie is getting on my nerves to be honest. He is very whiny and childish this season. I am truly enjoying Anthony Starr in his role. Homelander has always been creepy and cruel but this season he is just so incredibly unstable. Starr really knows how to deliver.
I hope we can get rid of Butcher soon.
So many red flags... and every single one in the wrong place.
Did they implied that Captain America now has power to take away other Sups powers? If so, that would be perfect!
Well, now I know that Netflix has more money/resources to pay translators than Amazon.
I love that name of the episode makes zero sense in tv version. I was hoping to see Vas through.
NOOOOO NOT KIMIKO (AND ALEX)

The unraveling of the flash happened when they decided to go from a show about regular people fighting villians with the help of a superhero to a bunch of superheroes fighting supervillians. Theres no depth to the latter, its just a Marvel movie and no one wants to watch 3 seasons of a Marvel movie. Really upset they pulled that card and continue to do so
