The Bear: Season 2

2x06 Fishes

I think watching this episode is going to be a new holiday tradition. Better than most Christmas movies.

loading replies

These episodes should come with a warning.

loading replies

Umm… jesus motherfucking christ… that was equal parts INTENSE and AMAZING.

loading replies

This is one of those episodes that halts you in your binge of the series. Not because it’s bad, but because you need to stop take a step back and really think about what happened. This episode explains a lot why each character is the way that they are.

Absolutely beautifully acted and directed. It really does capture the chaos of a holiday dinner with family.

loading replies

I...... I don't think I've ever seen an episode of TV like this in my life before. :no_mouth:

loading replies

This final sequence is just... wow!

loading replies

Let‘s just watch one more episode, we said. And than this rollercoaster ride. OMG! Marvelous Episode that triggered every emotion possible.

loading replies

Another stellar episode from The Bear - as good as the one shot episode from Season 1. This is a tour de force. A Christmas tale that reflects the true nature of family. This is a killer guest cast, which I won't spoil if you haven't watched the episode. However the actress playing the mother role, has to be in line for an Emmy.

loading replies

Nah. Just shouting and swearing.

loading replies

Jamie Lee Curtis. Bob Odenkirk. Jon Bernthal. Damn.

loading replies

Now that was an episode!

loading replies

Jamie Lee Curtis coming for that emmy win!

loading replies

Jesus Christ cousin! I feel like I need to just sit down, swig some whiskey and let this episode marinate in my mind. I feel raw just being on the sidelines of this absolute pressure cooker of a family unit; I can only imagine what living like this would do to your psyche after years and years of exposure. It adds so much context to the Berzattos, and finally answers why they're the way that they are. Possibly one of the best episodes of television ever, and an absolute ensemble of powerhouse performances. The Emmys better put some respect on the Bear, it's absolutely phenomenal.

loading replies

Incredibly hard to watch but equally as SUPERB of an episode of television. Jamie Lee Curtis gonna win an Emmy for this.

loading replies

This episode, double in length, made me watch it halves. Not because it was long but because it was stressful. I knew what the ending was going to show before we got there. I knew that it was going to be tense. Coming from my psych education, I knew that in a family that is toxic almost all the time, the people with mental illness will look like the crazy ones even though they aren't. And this showed so much insight into how each Bear sibling has the predisposition for depression from their mother and yet Mikey's manifested and festered because of how close he was to his mother. Carm escaped and Natalie married a normal so she escaped too, but Mikey couldn't. The worst part is, some people might look at this episode and feel like it's just like their family...and that's heartbreaking to me because sometimes we don't even realize that our own upbringing is the reason we might feel bad about ourselves or our lives. Apart from that, great performances all around. Not a single beat missed. Jon Bernthal and Bob Odenkirk took this episode and made it theirs.

loading replies

Non-stop, utter chaos - this is The Bear's bread and butter. It was entirely way too chaotic and cranked up, it was hard to watch but that was part of the story. I did not enjoy this episode, but did appreciate the scene between just Carmy and Mikey. Maybe because I didn’t grow up in a loud household but I just find all this yelling so annoying and hard to sit through.

loading replies

Been a fan of Jamie Lee Curtis for a while now so seeing her win an Oscar and then deliver what might just be the best performance of her whole career in this episode just in the span of a couple months is incredible. An all around amazing episode of television too.

loading replies

"and may God give Mikey the strength to put down that fork"

loading replies

Ok we said we liked the chos in the kitchen in the first season. But non stop family chit chat is not interesting at all. It was nice to see relations but %50 percent chitchat was unecessary

loading replies

Up there with some of the finest hours in television history.

loading replies

if bob odenkirk can't get an emmy for saul, we're gonna get him an emmy for this

loading replies

That was an excruciating watch.

loading replies

what a great episode
FEELS LIKE season 1 episode 7

loading replies

Two words: holy dysfunctional!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen another piece of media depict family dysfunction (at Christmas) as well as this right here. By the end of the episode I feel just as stressed as they must’ve felt.

This episode filled in some of the blanks that we’ve had since the first episode of the first season and it does so with an amazing delivery from everyone. What a great series this is!

at this rate the 6th episode of the 3rd season is just gonna be the cast apparating around you and berating you for 80 minutes straight

loading replies

Had to skip through this episode. Utter chaos … I just can’t

loading replies

A big fan of Season 01 of this show, this season has been hit-or-miss for me so far. I hated this episode.

loading replies

Wow. That was the most insane episode of TV I've ever watched. It was so intense and so chaotic I couldn't look away. If this doesn't win an award I'll be absolutely flabbergasted.

loading replies

THROW THE FORK. JUST DO IT.

Easily the best episode of the season. Maybe of the series?

loading replies

holy shit i was wrong. this is the best episode yet. jaw would not stop dropping as each berzatto family member entered the frame. as soon as lee opened his mouth i was waiting for that fork to fly.

loading replies

freaking crazy but the real question is: what's up with the seven fish? LMAO

loading replies

I just loved this so much. Jon Bernthal is so good.

loading replies

The energy of “Review” was stress plus adrenaline. The energy of this has me wanting to find a corner so I can scream an expletive.

loading replies

This is by far the best episode of season 2. I finally feel like I am watching The Bear again.

loading replies

Family dynamics always explains a lot.

loading replies

Shit goddamn. Okay that was some good television.

Reminded me a lot of "Sieranevada" (2016).

loading replies

Wow. This episode was so intense and stressful.

loading replies

Phenomenal. A "what if we take the energy of s01e07 and transfer it to a family's supposedly relaxing downtime". It was very nicely observed (I particularly like the sound design and the half heard conversations in the background, like the Bill Murray story all over again). I really wish I'd watched this in a cinema with surround sound.

I'm still a little unclear who everybody was, but I guess that was the point. The whole episode was like being thrust into a social situation with people you barely know and wanting equally to get the popcorn out or hide in a dark closet somewhere.

It's a little harsh on the main supporting cast seeing as this episode will clean up at all the awards. But wow. What a piece of TV that was.

loading replies

Yes indeed….riveting hour television like no other :fire::fire::fire::fire:

loading replies

Only one word can define this episode: ART!

loading replies

purely amazing and great cast on this episode

loading replies

This is one of most hard ep i have ever watched, I was soooo stressed during whole of it and although it was super great but im glad it ended!!

loading replies

Damn! this level of chaos shouldn't be allowed!!

loading replies

really intense, fantastic episode. great performances all around. jamie lee curtis at her best.

loading replies

The casting director just opened up their contact list and pressed send all. Didn't think Bob Odenkirk could give me sweaty palms again as hard as Better Call Saul but inviting a fork thrown at you is a war cry.

loading replies

One of the most brilliantly-acted, brutal, raw, uncomfortably stressful and heartbreaking pieces of television I have ever watched. Touches upon themes of familial trauma in a very real, very unsettling way, without ever becoming exploitative for a second. Also giving a new perspective on all main characters, adding extra context that makes you look back at everything that has happened from the first season on from a different angle. Not an easy watch, but an exceptional episode.

loading replies

Jesus Christ that was hard to watch. Almost turned it off near the beginning as I think I was getting ADHD. Glad I kept going because it was an utterly beautiful disaster. What an incredibly well written and acted episode. My fucked yp family seems so normal now.

loading replies

The most stressful episode of television of 2023

loading replies

Holy shit, how do they sort out the guest actor awards from this one.

loading replies

It makes me laugh to see those who think it's a masterpiece.his episode is a big piece of shit.

loading replies

i rewatched that fork-throwing moment a couple of times. that was excellent tv, despite the downright excruciating vibes.

I will say I feel like they exaggerated the drama in the family a little bit. seems like one or two of the things that happened at the dinner table would make sense in real life, but all 3/4 of them just felt like melodrama to be honest. toxic families don't need to put on a showstopping tour de force of drama just because it's christmas

loading replies

Uhhhh such heavy episode, took me 4 sittings to watch it, just wanted it to be overrrrrr

loading replies

Loved the chaotic in this episode. Reminds me of Noah Baumbach movies, especially "The Meyerowitz Stories"

loading replies

Something about the cadences of dialogue in this show and how they deliver lines like "stop fucking with me"

loading replies

Uncomfortable amount of people doing uncomfortable arguing! Made me appreciate my Christmas family gatherings! Even Britta was in this! Really just so many people!

loading replies

Lmao… Chaos & Confusion PT. 2

loading replies

The golden hour of televison. I could watch a whole show based on this episode alone.

loading replies

This episode came out of nowhere! Incredible performances. Steve’s speech before dinner blew me away. This family is crazy.

loading replies

Crap. PTSD of Christmases past. It's not Christmas until someone cries.

loading replies

As a 66 minutes long episode, it didn't hold up for me. The one-on-one scenes were the highlights. And when they finally sat down.

loading replies

Rewatching the season but I’ll have to skip this episode. It’s my least favorite of the season. Jamie Lee’s character is too much for me but I did appreciate all the Mikey moments.

loading replies

This explains a lot the background of this family friction.

This episode is soooo well directed and edited. It's rare I become anxious by watching a TV show, it happened. A crescendo of intensity. The casting is brilliantly perfect. This episode, will be remembered.

loading replies

what a chaotic and beautiful mess this episode is.
all the character interactions, how their relationships are presented, and the overall psychological horror that pervades the house which influences everyone that's present. it's all crafted masterfully and delivers some very impactful climaxes, while also never making me look at these characters in the same way again.

loading replies

Holy shit that was a rollercoaster one minute I wanted to stop it and the next I was mesmerised FMD (I’ve never seen so many comments on a single episode before wow)

loading replies

Marry Christmas everyone! :D o

loading replies

Get out of my face... my head hurts.

loading replies

Holy shit this has got to be the most intense and chaotic episode I have ever seen. The excellent cast and acting really make you feel like your living it.

loading replies

This was A LOT. Triggering, chaotic but a masterclass in tension. This also, explains A LOT of Carmen’s backstory and character. Just… wow.

loading replies

i dont know what it is about episodes showcasing the most chaotic event of the characters' lives but this might be my favorite for this season. it felt as if i was getting sucked into their family and that i was a part of their holiday dinner. i could feel what each and every single one of them were feeling all throughout this episode and it's terrifyingly incredible how well every actor did their parts here.

i love this show holy fuck

loading replies

Hang this episode in the Louvre. An absolute fuckin’ masterpiece.

loading replies

What the fuck was that?

loading replies

All of the overlapping voices and background repetitive noises. The timer going off dear god. What an amazing sad and dark episode when I say everyone acted their entire ass off. I mean just with their eyes. The cinematography of this episode was amazing, the symmetry, the symbolism just amazing

loading replies

as a (hopefully) future actor and filmmaker this episode is everything I wish to achieve. nothing more, nothing less. excellent delivery from everyone involved, camera work and pace makes you stay at the edge of your seat at all times. simply amazing.

loading replies

holy fucking shit i dont even know what to say... 10/10

loading replies

In my 760+ plays this year (thank you VIP for my year review) or beyond have I ever had so much to say about a moment of TV. That was fxcking PHENOMENAL. Horribly beautiful, home-hitting, golden. Well done to all involved.

I find myself tragically thankful that my ‘family’ is so small and Xmas is just me and mum but am conflicted after Stephen’s word, which moved me to tears…

I will never ever forget this show or episode - this episode was last season’s ‘20min’. I really can’t believe S1 has been topped so monumentally.

We can look past D somehow not hearing the exchange between Mike and Lee btw.

I don’t know who I wanted to hug the most in that house but one thing’s for sure, I’m never looking at forks the same again.
