They aren't clear on this, and the synopsis doesn't state it, nor does the show spell it out for you, but I believe Asuna has carried a paralysis antidote since the event a few episodes back where paralysis almost got Kirito killed. That makes sense, and while we have no idea what the limit is on crystals (the main healing/magic item we see), it's reasonable to assume that she has prepared for this, which is how she was able to get up.
The main character leaving the hospital echoes the ending of the first series, but we don't see them meet. This is explained later, and SAO certainly had better seasons/arcs that followed this than .hack did, by far — anyone who criticizes Fairy Dance should absolutely be forced to watch Legend of the Twilight! At least SAO didn't go chibi and introduce an implied incest plot — well, I'm half right, anyway! Because Suguha, you know. Anyway, this is where SAO stopped being a .hack fanfic and branched out into its own stories. I'm going to go out on a limb and say it got better! It went in a different direction from its source, and flew way higher — literally, and figuratively!
Side note: I watched this episode 2 days too late. I didn't plan to finish the Aincrad arc on the day Kirito cleared it, but I coincidentally came quite close!

I have about two episodes left in the first season and I feel as if this was the last great one of the show. This episode felt like it rushed to end the world created to start a whole one. The action in this episode was great and was met with a nice mixture of remorse and great story telling. The ending provided a great twist that unfortunately I don't believe they followed up well with.
