Ah. This episode. You kind of have to know what's coming, but that doesn't make it easier to watch. In an earlier episode, Kirito punches a wall, and we see "immortal object." Fine, but when Kuradeel throws Kirito into a statue, the "immortal object" thing came up, maybe unreasonably so, so we knew they were setting us up for a surprise use of the tag. Plus, anyone who's seen the anime SAO is loosely based on (.hack//SIGN), most likely saw the little girl and thought, "Aura." Sure enough, she's an AI designed to monitor the emotions of players, managed by another AI who wants to control her, just like in the original. The apple doesn't fall far, but again... doesn't make it any easier.

One would think "the corridor is rigged' would be enough to stop in your tracks and pay attention. Nope.

Should have let Darwin have his way.

Touching episode even if it is derivative. It would have been better to have Yui span a few more episodes for there to be more emotional impact. As it is, she was a fleeting character, a great character, but still a fleeting one. Like so many characters in this show, it isn't worth investing in them because they are "one and done". Even if some of them do return, the screen time is short and it often seems forced.
