Not the best season, had some good gameplay and very funny moments around camp and at tribal councils with a few standout players but didn't prove to be very entertaining.
Todd Herzog played the greatest game of all time. He kept it pretty entertaining. There is something really special about this season that I can't describe. I don't know what it is. I really liked this though.

China is a really, really good season and is definitely worth checking out. A lot of the challenges felt fresh and embraced the China theme. There were also seemingly more people that came to play the game this season, including Todd Herzog playing his ass off in a very enjoyable way from the beginning. The cast was really good overall and I found myself invested in many of the characters. With Exile Island being kind of lackluster the last couple of seasons, they did do away with it which felt like a refreshing change, which ultimately sparked up the early episodes with the Hidden Immunity Idols around and got people trying to strategically use them. It's hard to point towards anything that would make this season be a stand out in the grand scheme of things, but it was an incredibly enjoyable season and had a really satisfying winner who kind of revolutionized the "modern" approach of playing Survivor (build relationships with everyone and pull string at the right time on every elimination throughout the game). Not to mention that final tribal council where Todd explained why he deserved to win. I mean wow. The man played his ass off, and the second people realized they should target him, he cut their throat. Overall, probably the biggest revolutionary strategic game since Richard Hatch. If you enjoyed Palau (another season with a solid cast, solid challenges, solid game play, and a solid winner), this should be right up there as a comparable season worth watching.
