Nice start of a new Star Trek series, this was the Part 1 and telling some stories of beginning of a new team.
I'm watching this in 2024, when my introduction to the series was through the "New Era" in season 44. Everything feels so different and raw and like something that is still in the middle of cooking, it's so weird, but at the same time, it felt good to not watch them pretend they know how to play the game and try to make alliances from Day One. The immunity challenge feels like a joke compared to the current ones, it went by so quickly.

So it begins...the greatest reality series of all time. I've begun re-watching the entire Survivor series and rating each episode/season on here. Season 1 Episode 1 is sneaky good because it doesn't walk or talk like other Survivor series, but it almost feels like a superhero origin story. Actually, it's the origin story for many different character "archetypes" that consistently show up throughout the show. Excellent.
