Becky, huh? I wondered in past seasons if she'd return, but I didn't even consider her for this season. They really are pulling out all the stops. Still waiting to see Ellen, Jo, and Ash, though. Oh! And maybe Bella from season 1.
Man, this is the only way we see Benny? Well, I guess something's better than nothing.
Sam...isn't vegetarian and has never been opposed to eating it. Are the writers really trying to retcon their characters in the last season?
"They get to sit around and talk. That's what people like most anyways." So, the writers KNOW this and still bothered to put this typical monster-of-the-week episode right after everything that happened last episode?
"He's got a full ride to IU." IU as in...Indiana University? Didn't know that was impressive. :T
Did Veronica even have braces? I never saw anything.
What's with that Criminal Minds-esque editing after they showed the father washing blood off his hands?
I want to punch these writers in the face. They have Becky voice every complaint we've had for YEARS. And instead of fixing it, they just make fun of it.
They didn't have to kill the kid. They've let monsters with a conscience go before (and even befriended them!). They could've trained the kid to fight his urges and perhaps become a hunter. But no, they're just looking for someone to take their anger out on. Just like with Jack. It's disgusting.
WTF, Chuck? Honestly, WTF?
As someone else said, the Chuck parts were the best parts of the episode. The case was boring, rushed, and kinda predictable...

"We still do the job. But we don't do it for us. We do it for Jack, for Mom, for Rowena. We owe it to anybody who has ever given a damn about us to keep putting one foot in front of the other. No matter what"
This is why I love Supernatural and why I'll watch it religiously, day after day 'til the day I die. This episode is the one I'm gonna look back at it with a warm feeling in my heart.
My first take-away was the cold open. It was so damn good that I rewatchee it twice before continuing. I loved the aesthetics, the whole bearded Dean a la John Wick and Sam with demon eyes. Plus, Benny cameo. Simply perfect!
My other take-away was the directing. In all seriousness, I wouldn't mind Jensen directing every single episode this season. He completely captured the essence of Supernatural in each one of the shots and nailed its aesthetics.
Great acting, amazing script, outstanding directing, great jokes, excellent music cues, funny exchanges, Chuck being creepy, Becky, writing stuff and surprising Benny cameo. One thing, though, as much as I like seeing Benny back, please, stop bringing him just to be killed again. It's just plain cruel and traumatizing.
Maybe I was angry because Dean was an ass to Cas or because my lovely witch died, but I came to the episode with low expectations and the intro scene just caught me off-guard. I'm so intrigued by Sam's visions. I'm guessing since Chuck and him are connected, maybe Sam is experiencing all of Chuck's writings from other worlds, or just his own drafts.
I enjoyed every scene with Becky. I wasn't her biggest fan, so watching her in the recap threw me a bit off, but seeing her changed, admitting that what she did to Sam was fucked up and seeing her engaged in the fandom in a non-crazy way, writing her own fan-fiction and selling her own art was great. She didn't deserve that. She was just trying to do good. Dammit Chuck!
Speaking of, I've got to give it to Rob Benedict. He's one hell of an actor. He's a character that I love. And by love I mean adore. He's always been sweet, awkward and charming, but tonight he really creeped me out. It's all fun seeing his awkward adorable Chuck-self one minute and all of a sudden, he's really dark and creepy and conveying all those emotions with just a look. But like he said it himself, he's a cruel capricious God. I'm like actually mesmerized with the character. He's so well-written and acted.
Besides, he still has it. Since he got involved, the episode went from a normal MoTW to an absolutely memorable episode. Also, I enjoyed Becky's "one" note live criticizing the episode so damn much. "No one ever mentions Cas". Isn't it ironic that the only mention of Cas was that he isn't mentioned? God, I love meta episodes.
I still don't understand Chuck's plan. He gives the boys a gun that can kill him, gets shot (surprise, surprise), kills Jack just of pure impotence, starts a ghostpocalypse, Rowena ends it sacrificing herself, Amara tells him off and goes back to Becky for inspiration.
I was expecting more tension since the "Welcome to the end" expected everything to be more tense. But apparently, he got his mojo back at the end of the episode. I'm looking forward to what he's planning next.
Dean swinging the blade when the kid accepted his fate while Jensen's "Sound of Someday" was playing in the background...that went right to my soul.
I love the whole writer thing. There's something about seeing Chuck typing that gets me. Maybe it's all Swan Song or Don't Call Me Shurley, maybe it's 'cause I love writing, but I love it, no matter what.
I loved the symbolism with the Sam and Dean bobble heads at the end. I interpreted it as a representation of them being just puppets on a string being controlled by God. I loved that way of wrapping up the episode and introducing what's coming next.
There were a few memorable quotes. I loved the "meat man" scene and his "You're damn right it is! Meat Man!". That and Dean's "awesome" while watching a beaver riding past.
Also, Sam's "The end of the world is just the end of the world" goes right to my list of awkward Supernatural lines, along with my all time favorite "if there's a key, then there must also be a lock" and "accidents don't just happen accidentally".
Dean's hopeful speech in the Impala got me. And then Sam's "I still think about Jessica". Arrghhh. I just want to give Sam a hug.
The episode had everything I like in Supernatural. I was drained when it ended. Like I just want to cry and hug Sam. I hope the remaining ones keep the pace. Although I'm not sure my heart can take it.
Anyone noticed Jensen's Band playing?
And I love the fact that they keep including us every now and then. Even if I'm not very found of Utlimate fan Becky, what Chuck did was mean.
I want this "laundry", but also those monsters. I guess Chuck was right, everything need to be balanced.
More secrets kept. These brothers really need to share more stuff.
It only took them 15 years to talk about their feelings!
Better later than never I guess lmao
Also: please stop bringing Benny back just to kill him off. I'm starting to get traumatized
I thought the apocalypse monsters from hell would mean seeing Michael, Luci, Crowley, and dead loved ones again, but instead portal closed after 3 measly episodes and we are back to procedural.
Chuck seemed pathetically short sighted in this ep too. As for Becky....i think prefer the previous Becky to "i need to give my husband motion sickness pills for the kids."

The Chuck scenes are more interesting than the Winchester case they are working on. In fact I barely remember the case in this episode. It just wasn’t that memorable.
